The content of this module focuses on Philippine bills and coins and its value. It
is very important to expose the learner in real situations using money to achieve
the best learning outcome. This experience will deepen his understanding on the
value of money in everyday life. It is therefore important to help the learner in
interpreting the value of Philippine bills and coins through reading and writing
in symbols and in words in the simplest way as possible.

Introduction
You are now in level 3, your previous grade level was in grade 2. In this level
you will encounter bigger values in terms of money. As you go along with the
content of this module, you are supposed to read and write money in symbol
and in words through P1 000 in pesos and centavos. The basic goal of this
module is for you to be able to independently read and write symbol and words
of the valued money in pesos and centavos.

Read the situation below.


Rhumari joins her Mama Yen to the pizza house. Her Mother paid the total bill
after eating. Rhumari asks her mother how much is the change. Mother let her
count the change.
