Based on the discussion, in 1,000 words, how will you relate and live the mission, vision and

the core values of the OLFU? What is your expectations with OLFU? CHIM? Course?
Faculty? Classmates?

To begin with, being hospitable is a trademark among Filipinos since we love to welcome
tourists/guests wholeheartedly with our breathtaking home and allow them to be comfortable
during their stay. Taking my chosen program, "Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality
Management Major in Culinary Arts," enables me to provide a wide range of services and
experiences to cater to the needs and desires of travelers and tourists – from luxurious hotels to
charming bed and breakfasts, from exquisite restaurants to lively bars, and thrilling attractions to
entertainments. Being in the hospitality industry encompasses a diverse array of establishments
that aim to create memorable experiences for individuals and communities alike. Besides, being
in the hospitality industry allows us to enter a business industry requiring us to know how to market
and advertise our hospitality and tourism products.

Moreover, as stated in the Mission of Our Lady of Fatima University, they are dedicated to the
improvement of man as a man through the holistic formation of an individual imbued with
necessary skills, virtues, and academic development. This implies that the University helps its
students show who they are physically, mentally, and emotionally. It aims to show how to be a
strong individual and become an independent person. With that, as a student of OLFU, I can live
up to its mission by being a responsible and wise person at all times because it can help me to be
capable of facing challenges and circumstances in my everyday life. Being a responsible and wise
individual will also help me manage my decisions and personality when marketing a product since
advertising a product requires us to plan how to capture the attention of the people. Additionally,
it will help me to strive to be the best version of myself as an entrepreneur in managing a business
in the future.

Furthermore, as stated in the Vision of Our Lady of Fatima University, they aspire to improve man
as a man by developing individuals through a legacy of excellent education and compassionate
value formation. This implies that the University wants to bring out the best in its students by
giving them a quality education, understanding what others are going through, and empathizing
with them. With that, as a student of OLFU, I can live up to its vision by genuinely helping and
guiding others to what is right and what is wrong. Additionally, when it comes to the business
industry, I should stand up to all of my staff and employees when the customers are hurting them
and make them feel that I love and care for them. This is also applicable when my employees and
staff are hurting the customers, and I should stand up with my customers. Additionally, I should
be humble at all times and respect the opinions of others with all of my heart because feedback
from the customers will help the business to improve its services and grow more.
The Our Lady of Fatima University students are expected to become ACHIEVER. This Core
Values implies the student aspires to do his best, to be credible and compassionate, to be
hardworking and honorable, to become an inspiration to others, to become efficiently
entrepreneurial and employable, to be visionary, to be ethical, and to have excellent work habits,
and lastly, to be responsible. I will live up to the OLFU core values in the business industry by (1)
giving my best in everything I do, even though I'm not good at them. (2) I should value and not
waste the trust of the people in me, especially the trust of my customers, and I should help others
when they are in need in my capability. (3) I should be committed to all tasks, focus on my goal,
and always maintain honesty and fairness in the workplace. (4) I need to be more dedicated and
compassionate to my business and not let anyone ruin it. (5) I should also think and plan for my
future and make it my guide to all my life goals. And lastly, (6) I should be responsible for myself
and all my actions and decisions, stand up, and take all of the responsibility for myself when
something goes wrong.

On the other hand, my expectation in Our Lady of Fatima University is to give us students good
facilities that will help and enhance our abilities, skills, and capacities in our chosen careers. Also,
I expected them to provide the students with an affordable tuition fee and many opportunities in
their chosen fields. Moreover, my expectation in CHIM is to help the students, primarily first-year
and transfer students, to know the pieces of information about the school, facilities, uniforms,
heads of their course, and other information that can help them for the school year. Furthermore,
my expectation in my course, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Industry Major in Culinary Arts,
is it will give me more knowledge about the hospitality industries such as hotels, airlines,
restaurants, cruise ships, and many more. I also expected it to enhance my skills when it comes to
cooking since my major is culinary arts, which gives me an opportunity to make dishes, familiarize
myself with the kitchen tools and equipment, know the difference between herbs and spices, and
become innovative to make any dishes unique and appealing to the eyes of people. In addition, I
expect the faculty to give us more knowledge about our course, help us when we encounter
difficulties understanding the lessons, and give us advice and ideas to develop our skills and
capabilities. And lastly, my expectation in my classmates is to help each other and not think of
each other as an enemy. School should be a place where you can socialize, interact, and find a
friend, not a competition.

To end this, I know that at the end of the day, Our Lady of Fatima University's Mission, Vision,
and Core Values will help me to be more successful in the future since they provide me with
knowledge that I cannot only apply inside the school but also I can apply to the real world and
business world. It also taught me how to strive for myself better, improve my emotions and
personality towards others, and lastly, help me to achieve my fullest potential in all aspects of life.
