Abstract:
Nano scale and bio-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are an important class of
porous materials potentially used in biomedical application. Herein, a novel citric acid
based electro magnetic (CA@Cu-Zn-MOFs) are electrosynthesized using a simple
electrochemical approach in which the citric acid MNP added in organic ligand: 1,2,4,5-
benzenetricarboxylic acid and Tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBATFB)
(Lestari, Arvinawati et al. 2017). The electrosynthesis of CA@Cu-Zn-MOF performed at
ambient temperature under voltage of 50V in the solvent mixture of ethanol: water
(50:50) having the current of 20mA at 30 minutes. Compared to conventional methods
for synthesis of MOFs, electrochemical methods provide several advantages such as
shorter synthesis times, controlling the thickness and morphology by altering applied
current or voltage, as well as mild synthesis conditions. The optimum condition was
determined based on the percent yield of the product which upon washing and drying at
100oC under the vaccum. After that the final material is modified with the luminol and
capture probe, target and detection probe tagged with the alexa flour and pacific blue and
put on the biosensor for detection purpose.
