far have these textbooks helped the students achieve these curriculum aims above? Give

English as a communication tool: These textbooks help the students achieve their
communicative ability in simple English through the four language skills of listening,
speaking, reading and writing.

+ Students can under stand and use simple structures relating to familiar topics in
communication.

+ They can introduce themselves and the others.

+ They can answer some basic information about themselves: a place of living, members of
the family, friends, daily activities and School…

Knowledge on language and cultures: The general education English language curriculum
enables students to have an overview of the landscape, people and cultures of some English
speaking countries and other countries in the world.

+ Through the familiar themes and topics, Students have lessons in the class that introduce
the names, cultures, people and languages of some English speaking countries: America,
Australia, Singapore…

Positive attitudes: The students can have have good attitudes and feelings towards those
countries, their people, their cultures and their languages, which makes students the love for
their country Viet Nam and enables them to formulate and develop the qualities and
competences necessary for employment later.

Skill, methods and strategies: students will be able to develop effective English learning
strategies, which will support their ability to transfer eventually to learning other languages.

+ Students will have positive attitudes towards English language learning during school
studying.

+ Students can have knowledge and pride in the values of their own Vietnamese culture, the
love for family and the awareness of protecting environment.
