GENERAL FUNCTIONS

1. All drivers working on a roads project are to

ensure that their vehicles are fitted with the
required rotating amber warning light.
2. The drivers are to ensure the light is
operational at all times whilst driving through
site.
3. All drivers are to ensure that they maintain a
safe travelling speed inside the site working
area at all times. (20-30kph)
4. Drivers are to ensure that when entering or
exiting the work area, an audible blast from
the vehicles hooter is sounded to ensure the
workers are aware the vehicle is now in
motion.
5. Drivers parking inside the barriers within the
working area must ensure that when leaving
their vehicles unattended, as far as is
reasonably practicable, space is left open to
allow other site vehicles to pass.
6. Drivers must be alert.
7. Drivers are not to talk on their cell phones
whilst driving on site unless an approved
hands-free device is used..
