Sub-Project Manager – Control & Protection

Role Summary:
As “Sub-PM Control and Protection” you are the link between the Overall Project Management and Project
Lead Hardware, Studies and Integration & Test, as well as System Engineering and Plant Infrastructure
teams. You are driving C&P system design related topics from early concepts development until
manufacturing, testing and customer acceptance. You ensure that a functional C&P system which complies
with contractual requirements will be delivered to the customer.

Key Responsibilities

General:
· Responsible for budget, time and quality within own area of responsibility
· Active collaboration with overall Project Management as well as support functions, other involved
SubPMs, Project Leads and project engineers, support exchange of information, strengthen collaboration
· Drive requirement engineering in own area of responsibility
· Actively promoting the model-based engineering process for C&P design
· Development of C&P design concepts in own area of responsibility
· Acts as a driver for the implementation of Best Practices and Lessons Learned in the project
· Responsible, Accountable and Contributing as defined in the RACI matrix for projects and offers
· Tracking of issues and deviations as well as initiating mitigations from tender until acceptance in own
area of responsibility
· Works in projects and offers
Offer:
· Analysis of the Customer specification with focus on the technical requirements on the C&P system in
view of the variations from our standard, the feasibility and the necessary tests.
· developing the overall project schedule for control & protection system
· Responsible for the cost Calculation for the control and protection system including identification of
risks and opportunities
· Accountable and responsible for the Preparation of the necessary bidding documents as given in the
RACI-matrix depending on the bid category

Project Execution:
· Execute order entry calculation with Overall Project Management and Project Leads
· Continuous risk and opportunity management with Overall Project Management and Project Leads
· Responsible for the Contract and Claim management with Overall Project Management
· Resource management together with Team leads and Project Leads
· quality management: support quality releases and ensure adequate NCR-management
· Time scheduling for C&P system
· Costs controlling (MIKA) and progress tracking with the Overall Project Management and Project
Leads
· Planning, controlling and management of the execution of C&P system
· Requirement Engineering
· Implementation of C&P concepts
· Coordination of interfaces with other ENEC-Teams
· Change- and Claim- management
· Organize procurement of deliveries and engineering packages
· Customer clarification
· Support Installation and commissioning
· Performing Acceptance tests with suppliers and customers
· Drive and Manage Document handling from spec-Phase to as-built

Integration & Test Lead

Role Summary

As “Integration & Test Lead” you are coordinating all aspects of C&P software development from project start
up to the final customer acceptance tests.
By means of continuous requirements engineering, you are guiding the software engineering team through the
development and integration phase. You are responsible for the definition of internal and external acceptance
tests while ensuring compliance with all relevant system requirements.

This role fosters your leadership skills in an international team of C&P experts from different areas.
You will gain a holistic view of C&P software at a leading HVDC manufacturer and work closely with project
management and project leads to create unique value for our customers.

Key Tasks

Support the tender team in bid projects by planning and calculation of integration and testing tasks.
Coordinate C&P software development process from project start up to the final customer acceptance tests
ensuring compliance with all relevant system requirements:
· Set up and follow consistent requirements engineering throughout the project.
· Guide a team of software engineers through the software development and integration phase.
· Define acceptance tests in close collaboration with our customers and internal stakeholders.
· Coordinate execution of offsite and on-site acceptance tests, create test reports and track open
points in close collaboration with our customers and internal stakeholders.
· Track development and test progress and report to project management on a regular basis.
· Promote a model-based engineering approach and support an efficient use of X-in-the-loop
environments to achieve project goals in terms of time and quality.

Competencies

· At least 5 years hands-on experience in C&P systems for large industrial converter applications
(ideally engineering / commissioning in HVDC or similar electrical converter systems)
· Experience in leading small engineering or commissioning teams is a plus.
· You are flexible to work on-site for some weeks during acceptance tests.
· You approach complex tasks with analytical skills and a structured way of thinking.
· You are actively driving topics and resolving issues by means of stakeholder management.
· You are comfortable in direct communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
