The graph below gives information about the percentage of the population in four Asian

countries living in cities from 1970 to 2020, with predictions for 2030 and 2040.

The line graph given illustrates the proportion of the number of human
beings in four countries living in rural areas between 1970 and 2020,
with estimation for 2030 and 2040.
Indonesia and Malaysia were the two nations that had a trend of
increase in the percentage of total population, which in turn
significantly rose from approximately thirteen percent to nearly fifty
percent ( Indonesia ) and from thirty percent to more than eighty
percent ( Malaysia ) between 1970 and 2020. The data will also
witness a similar trend of rising in 2030 and 2040.
Besides, Philippines witnessed a fluctuation in the data, which rose
considerably from 1970 to 1990, but it dropped since then to 2010.
From 2010, the figure reversed to increase again, reaching about
fortyfive percent and it is predicted to rise continuously in 2030 and
2040. Thailand also witnessed the same trend compared to
Philippines, estimated to reach more than forty percent in 2040.
