I. Executive Summary: (Description in not more than 150 words, as to


why the school/SDO nominee deserves the award.

Our nominee, Maria Filipinas M. Palmero, began her career at Gabi


Elementary School teaching Grade 1. In 2017, she was given the chance to
work as the ALS District Coordinator of Compostela West. The shift in her
responsibilities presented challenges, such as a lack of funding for the
program’s implementation. But thanks to her unwavering devotion, she was
able to forge partnerships and commitments with 11 barangays in the
Compostela West District to boost the Alternative Learning System’s
implementation through the implementation of Bayanihan Literacy Mapping.

However, this was not the only test she had to pass because there were other
circumstances as well that even put her security and safety in danger. She
remained committed to ALS despite these. And through hard work, became
instrumental in the conduct of PPAs in the district and more importantly, the
establishment of the now functional ALS building in Compostela, Davao de
Oro.

II. Significant Accomplishment/s in Fostering Learning for the past


two years (Said accomplishment is approved by duly constituted
authorities and is implemented and utilized)
 Submit appropriate MOVs

 Initiated the conduct of 2023 CONNECTAYO (Spiritual Upliftment for


Out-of-School Youth Program.

 Spearheaded the conduct of District ALS Festival of Talents in


Compostela West District 1 on March 3-4, 2023.

 Conducted the 2-day program on Comprehensive Sexual Education


and Gender Development on October 4-5, 2022 at Barangay Gabi
Gymnasium, Gabi, Compostela, Davao de Oro in support to the

Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners in Compostela West


District.

 Initiated the request for the establishment of the now functional ALS
building amounting to Php 500,000.00 from the Local Government
Unit of Compostela.

 Facilitated the conduct of Strengthening the Non-Formal Education


Center on ALS on October 5, 2022 at Barangay Gabi Mini Gymnasium,
gabi, Compostela, Davao de Oro.

 Spearheaded and facilitated the launching of PROJECT A.G.O.S (ALS


Gearing on Success) and MOA Signing of the ALS Senior High School
at Gabi Central Elementary School Gymnasium, March 11, 2022.

 Distributed learning kits to the ALS learners using the funds


generated from Barangays that support the ALS program of
Compostela West District. These barangays pledged a commitment
after the nominee established a partnership with them through the
conduct of Bayanihan Literacy Mapping in the 11 barangays of the
district.

 Initiated and facilitated the Embutido and Tocino Making Skills


Training on March 30-31, 2021- the USWAG Kabataan Project (UKP) of
the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in partnership
with PLGU-CTEC, DepEd-ALS Davao de Oro and Technical Education
and Skills Authority (TESDA).

 Delivered Radio-Based Instruction on ALS lessons through Radyo Z-


Eskwela: Pag-aaral ay Z-guradong Masaya for the school year 2021-
2022.

 Spearheaded the conduct of Drug Symposium on April 15, 2021 to all


the learners in different community through Community Learning
Centers.

 Acted as a Demonstration Teacher on the Detailed Lesson Plan (LSF


Filipino) during the Regional Mass Training on ALS K+12 Basic
Education Curriculum for the Eleven School Division Offices-Batch 3
on August 26-September 3, 2019 at RELC-NEAP, Quirino, Davao City.

 Coordinated with the barangay officials during the Barangay


Development Council Meeting to establish commitment and
partnership in support to ALS.

III. Impact of Accomplishment/s in the Improvement of the Learning


Outcomes (Percentage of the Improvement on the students’ learning
outcomes).

This infographic shows the impact of accomplishments of our nominee. This


shows that 100% of the enrollees qualified and passed the ALS program. From
the number of learners enrolled, 18 and 14 learners pursued senior high
school in school year 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 respectively. Leaners also
pursued other careers such as as Overseas Filipino Workers and soldiers.

IV. Innovations in Basic Literacy and Transformational Education

authorities)

 Designed a training on flower grafting on December 13-14, 2023 in


partnership with LGU, PLGU Development Academy of the Philippines,
and TESDA.
 Initiated the Embutido and Tocino Making Skills Training on March 30-31,
2021 to 32 learners from different Community Learning Centers.
