The Magic Paintbrush - Lesson Plan
Objectives:

Procedure:
1. Introduction (5 minutes):
Greet the students and introduce the topic of the lesson: "Today we are going to read a
story called 'The Magic Paintbrush.'"
Ask the students if they have ever heard of or read this story before.
Show the students the cover of the storybook and ask them to make predictions about
what the story might be about.
2. Pre-reading activities (10 minutes):
Introduce 5-6 new vocabulary words from the story using flashcards. Practice
pronunciation and ask students to repeat after you.
Write the new vocabulary words on the whiteboard and ask students to write a sentence
using each word.
Review the main parts of a story (characters, setting, plot) and ask the students to identify
these elements in the storybook.
3. Reading (15 minutes):
Read the story aloud to the students, stopping occasionally to ask comprehension
questions or make connections to the students' own experiences.
Encourage students to use their imaginations and visualize the story in their minds.
4. Post-reading activities (20 minutes):
Give the students a worksheet with comprehension questions and vocabulary activities
related to the story.
Ask the students to work in pairs or small groups to complete the worksheet.
After completing the worksheet, ask the students to share their answers and discuss their
favorite parts of the story.
5. Conclusion (5 minutes):
Recap the main points of the lesson and ask the students to share what they learned from
the story.
Ask the students to share any questions they have about the story or the new vocabulary
words.
Thank the students for their participation and encourage them to continue reading and
learning new words.

Monitor students' participation during the lesson and give feedback.
