PINK READING SERIES

BUILDING WORDS WITH OBJECTS &

THE MOVABLE ALPHABET
Thank you for downloading this Pink Reading Series Building Words with Objects and the Movable
Alphabet instructions in cursive font as a free resource from Foresight Montessori. This work is the
very first work in the Foresight Montessori Pink Reading Series. It is used before the Building Words
with Pictures and Movable Alphabet work.

This file includes instructions on how to put this work together for use by the child and includes
printable stickers for use with the individual boxes/pouches. These stickers should be printed on a full
sheet sticker paper, laminated (if desired), and then cut out on the lines. It is helpful to laminate these
stickers before cutting them out to increase their lifespan.

If you are in need of a printable Movable Alphabet you can refer to the Pink
Reading post on thehelpfulgarden.blog for a link to a printable file.

Use of Work:
Give the child a naming lesson so they know what they are building. Ask the child what sound
they hear at the beginning of the word ‘ram’ and say, “I hear a ‘rrrr’. Can you hear the ‘rrrr’?
What is the next sound you hear in the word ‘ram'? What is the last sound you hear in the word
‘ram’?” Children build each set by laying out the objects and spelling with the Movable
Alphabet. They use the same pouch until they are mastered and can build them
independently. Once the work has been built, clean it up and give the child a chance to build
the work independently. Support the child as needed.
