STUDY TIPS
Projects
• Use your UNIT Chapter Projects to prepare for your Exam
• Reopen them, redo them
o It does not matter if your study mark is lower than the current mark when you re-do them
o MyLab IT only retains the highest mark
o In fact, you may even improve your existing mark
This is the quickest way to find out if you know the basic features and how to apply them.
• You have unlimited attempts on these Projects, so you can practice as much as necessary!
• You can also go back and pick and choose to do just certain questions for review purposes.
Simulation Trainings
• Use the Simulation Training exercises.
o They have the Learning Aids built-in (usually useful except for some odd glitches.)
o Use the VIEW ALL button to see a list of all skills covered in a Simulation Training
o Launch any skills that you want to practice.
PowerPoints/Videos
Go back into the Student Learning Resources in MyLab IT and quickly re-read the PowerPoints or fast-forward
through the videos. NOTE any areas of weakness and be sure to practice those skills.
• The official Microsoft Support website has many excellent videos and articles explaining aspects of
these apps, both for PC and for Mac.
o That will be any URL that starts with support.microsoft.com
• Use the HELP function from within any of the MS Office apps
o Choose to read help articles from there.
Remember that you only get one attempt at these Exams, so you want to be as prepared as possible before
you start!
