1.) Describe the scenery in your hometown ten years ago.

Does it have any works of art


(arichitecture, visual arts, etc). What did they look like?

It is a century-old church located in Brgy. Joroan, in the small town of Tiwi, and is one of the
heritage churches in the province. This small church in Tiwi is home to the miraculous image of
the Nuestra Senora de Salvacion. There are a lot of works of art like architecture in the church.
There are vaulted ceillings, columns, pointed arches, and stained glass windows that can be seen
in this church. A church may have been built with mud bricks, wattle and daub, split wood, or
rubble. The church congregation constructed permanent and aesthetically pleasing buildings as
the house of the Lord. Then, the tradition of congregations and local leaders investing time and
money for building and decorating the church.

2.) Describe the present scenery in your hometown.

People in Tiwi invested money for the renovation of the old church for it to become aesthetically
pleasing. There are a lot of changes in the church now and it is more amazing for its captivating
beauty. However, it doesn’t matter if the church is simple or extravagant because God lives in
our hearts. But it is good to witness this church, as well as their history and development. Hence,
we must take care of these structures, so we can continue to pass them on to the next generation.

3.) From what you have envisioned in numbers 1 and 2 , make a conclusion on what has
changed and what has remained in the arts in your hometown.

The church and its surroundings have undergone numerous renovations, as can be seen in the
two images above. The paint color has been changed; it used to be blue but is now gray. Also, the
picture of our Lady of Salvation that had been placed in the center of the church was taken down.
There were a lot of trees around back then, but now there aren't as many.

Inside the church, there were also various alterations. Both the painting and the ceiling
were changed. Back then, the subtitles were seen on a large white board, but now there
are flat-screen televisions installed. The two statues visible in front were also removed.
Chandeliers are also set in the ceiling.
