7 . Busking Routine Awards 8-10 min

Give awards to every group member based on categories that you create.
An alternative option (or addition) would be to give awards to every individual
based on "crazy categories" such as "most creative use of a Boomwhacker....Jon
Smith."
Awards will be a great culmination of the project. Students can keep the awards in
their Project Files or take them home.

Quaver Busking Project Certificate can be downloaded from Worksheets.

8 . 6th - Module 2 - Busking 5-10 min

Assessment
Assess students' knowledge of the history of busking.

If you have chosen to look at some of the historic and musical history elements of
the project, you can assess your students' knowledge by doing this 10 question
assessment.

Busking Assessment Response Sheet can be downloaded in Worksheets.

9 . More Performance Venues 3-5 min

Encourage students to brainstorm busking opportunities. Here are some suggestions:

1. Go to a local elementary school and have busking groups set up around the
gymnasium. Create pretend red "start buttons" that can be pressed by an
elementary student. This starts the routine for the elementary students to
watch.
2. Students could talk about and perform their routines in an elementary school
assembly.
3. As part of a school carnival, student groups can be spaced around the school
and will only perform when money is placed in their cup.
4. With teacher's supervision, the busking groups can travel downtown to an
appropriate square/pedestrian area and perform for a gathered audience for
donations to a local charity or school funds.
5. Students can upload videos of their routines to YouTube with permission
from parents and school; whichever group gets a thousand views first wins a
prize.
Discuss with students other ways their work can be performed/showcased.

10 . The Busking Song (Lyrics) 4-5 min

Perform The Busking Song in front of a live audience.

If students have enjoyed The Busking Song, have them practice and perform it as a
group for a live audience.
Alternatively, teach the audience the four rhythm parts in the song.
Have the audience clap them during the C section of the song.

The The Busking Song melody is printed at the end of the Lesson Plan. The score and lyrics
can be downloaded from Worksheets.
