Animalia kingdom
Kingdom Animalia is the largest of the five-
kingdom classifications, containing all
multicellular and eukaryotic organisms without a
cell wall. Some of the different types of animals
in the Animalia kingdom include: Chordates,
Poriferans, Platyhelminthes, Cnidarians,
Annelids, Molluscs, Anthropods, Echinoderms.

Characteristics
of animalia
kingdom
The kingdom Animalia is a diverse
group of organisms that share certain
characteristics. Some of the
characteristics of kingdom Animalia
are:
1.They can move
and so have
locomotion
This means that animals can walk, swim,
fly or move in some way to get from
one place to another.
2. They lack a
cell wall and
plastids
This means that the cells in an animal’s
body don’t have a hard outer layer
like plant cells do. This makes animals
more flexible and able to move
around.
3. They are
heterotrophic since
they cannot prepare
their own food
This means that animals can’t use
sunlight to make food like plants do.
Instead, they have to eat other
things like plants or other animals to
get the energy and nutrients they
need.
4. They have excretory
and sensory organs, as
well as a neurological
system:
This means that animals have things
like kidneys to get rid of waste, eyes
to see, and brains to think and make
decisions.
5. Reproduction
is generally
sexual
This means that most animals need a
male and a female to make babies. The
male and female mate, and then the
female has babies.
Habitats of
animalia kingdom
The kingdom Animalia is the largest kingdom, consisting of
over one million species. Animals can be found in virtually
every habitat on Earth, from the North and South Pole to
the oceans, lakes, and rocky terrain all over the world. This
includes a wide variety of habitats such as forests,
grasslands, deserts, mountains, wetlands, and more.
Animals have adapted to live in these different
environments and can be found in almost every corner of
the planet.
