 SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE

INTRODUCTION : in this article we tackle about the SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERANCE, what and
who are the awardees of seal of good local governance and what are the places that given award and the good
financial house keeping and what are the minimum requirement of local governance assessment for the
opportunities for development, and what is the role of the DILG in SGLG.

BODY : result of 2022 of the awardees. DILG Region 5 congratulates the following 9 Local Government Units
(LGUs) of Bicol Region conferred with the 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Awards
during the First Cluster Awarding Ceremony at The Manila Hotel on December 14, 2022. Are the list of the

according to the secretary of the interior and local government Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. the awardess of the
(SGLG) Arnaldo E. Escober Jr. CESO V, Assistant Regional Director Jhoaden G. Lucero, CESO V, and
C/MLGOOs and to the financial house keeping it is essentially process of keeping your finances in good order
through regular attention and maintenance. A quick dusting down of your budget each week or shining up your
saving with better planning and reseach can make all the difference to overall financial health and recognizes
the practice of the local government units of financial transparency and accountability and instituted public
reporting of the budget and expenditure of local governments. And to past the SGLG they must be focus on: 1)
LGUs' capacity - to deliver basic services, 2)governance principles -transparency, accountability; and 3)
performance - accomplishment of plans, fund utilization and frontline service delivery, what is crucial is strong
leadership. And to the role of the dilg must be the purpose of data reconciliation and final inclusion into the
SGLG forms, the DILG-RO shall collaborate with the relevant regional office or agency. BLGS must be
informed in this case. Before being submitted to the relevant DILG Provincial or Regional Office, all Forms
must be properly signed by all RAT members. And there are three hundred fifty (350) local government units
(LGU’S) across the country will be conferred with the most coveted 2022 seal of good local governance
(SGLG) award for exemplary performance amid the COVID-19 health crisis that respond to the call of times
accordinf to the department of interior and local goverment. And to achieve the (SGLG) it maintains an “all-in”
principle where a local government unit must pass all 10 governance areas: (1) Financial Administration and
Sustainability; (2) Disaster Preparedness, (3) Social Protection and Sensitivity; (4) Health Compliance and
Responsiveness; (5) Sustainable Education, (6) Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; (7) Safety, Peace
and Order; (8) Environmental Management, (9) Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and (10)
Youth Development. And for the non passer you must be must active and do well your job but there a
recognition in achieving the minimum standards of local governance assessment area’s and if any theres an
opportunities for development will be given to the lgu that did not satisfy the requirements for the (SGLG).
CONCLUSIONS : in this other local government unit must be productive and must be creative and advance in
all terms that the city needed and in this paper we need more province city to be develop and to be more good
governance and The seal of good financial housekeeping serves as validation of our efforts to spend our budget
and finances in a transparent and honest manner while delivering programs and services most beneficial to our
constituents, and the 7s of (GFH) sort, systematize, sweep, standardize, safety, self-discipline and sustain. And
the importance of good governace More specifically, it can improve the performance of your business, help it
become more stable and productive, and unlock new opportunities. It can reduce risks, and enable faster and
safer growth. It can also improve reputation and foster trust. And the main need of good governance relates to
the political and institutional processes and outcomes that are necessary to achieve the goals of development.
The true test of 'good' governance is the degree to which it delivers on the promise of human rights: civil,
cultural, economic, political and social rights.
