There is decline in ground water level in several parts of Delhi because of high

groundwater extraction. (Aijaz, 2020).

In Delhi, there are discrepancies in water service availability. A considerable

majority of the people living in planned colonies have access to piped water and
sewerage, allowing them to use treated water for a variety of potable and non-
potableapplications. This population has issues such as a lack of water during

significant water and sanitationproblem in places without piped networks, with
the poorest people bearing the bruntof the consequences. (Aijaz, 2020)
