1. What is the concept of Business Marketing?

Business Marketing occurs when you sell a product or a service to another business. It is also
called business-to-business marketing. It is a transaction wherein businesses or organizations buy
something to use in manufacturing, in their own company, or for resale. It requires to be more direct and
personal than consumer marketing. They use marketing channels such as trade magazines and direct
mails. It is important that individuals working in this industry must have great communication and
interpersonal skills so they can generate more sales and promote their products effectively (Learn.org,
n.d.).

For example, selling hospital equipment to another hospital, subscriptions, software, security, tools,
accessories, and office supplies. Mostly products that are sold for B2B Marketing are pricey and in need of
experts so you can research what you are buying and at the same time, know if the company is legit.
Business Marketing requires to be more private in person because it contains extensive and confidential
information. LinkedIn is also a great app in finding new customers to target. According to Kearns 2022,
there are five kinds of B2B marketing strategies. 1. Develop an Overarching Vision – create a plan and
establish objectives. 2. Define your Market and Buyer Persona – narrow your audience. 3. Identify B2B
Marketing Tactics and Channels – social media. 4. Create Assets and Run Campaigns – creative
approaches. 5. Measure and Improve. Business Marketing also includes measuring your data and knowing
when and where to invest. The data and metrics help find out the trends and what is helpful to customers.

2. Differentiate Business Marketing from Consumer Marketing

Consumer Marketing focuses on individual preferences of consumers. You know what are their
wants and needs. Meanwhile, business marketing is having a business or organizations as a customer.
They are a group who are buying and selling from and to another group. Moreover, consumer marketing
caters to consumers and will sell a product and service in a store or a shop instead of having a formal
meeting. Consumer Marketing also has a broad approach in promotion because unlike, B2B where you
already have an idea on who your customers are, in B2C you need to gain new customers and receive
attention so that you can sell for a long time. B2B products are pricey but it might be intentional since they
might tend to be long – lasting or may be used for a long time. Therefore, B2B and B2C are both important
marketing tactics that help businesses sell and advertise products and services.
