The female owner of a Bronx daycare center where four tots were exposed to lethal doses of suspected
fentanyl — killing one of them — showed no emotion Sunday as she was hauled off to court in handcuffs.
Grei Mendez De Ventura, 36, the proprietor of Divino Nino Daycare, was stoic as she was taken from the
52nd Precinct, followed by fellow suspect Caristo Acevedo Brito, 41 — who lived in the basement
daycare that law-enforcement sources said was really a front for drugs.

The kiddies were apparently exposed when the drug was cut in the daycare and some of it floated into the employees
air, allowing them to inhale it, law-enforcement sources explained.
Police have launched a manhunt for Ventura’s husband, who lived with her next door and is also sought in
the boy’s death, sources said.
Cops responded to a 911 call from the Kingsbridge child care center shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday and
found three of the children unresponsive — allegedly after being exposed to fentanyl, according to cops.
Two arrests have been made following the tots’ death, including the day cares owner and a neighbor.

At least some of the children were administered Narcan to try to save them.
Dominici was rushed to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
One of the 2-year-old boys is in critical condition while the 8-month-old girl is in stable condition.
The other toddler was taken to BronxCare Health Systems by an acquaintance and is in stable condition.
In addition to the depraved indifference murder charge, the pair is facing a slew of charges including
manslaughter, reckless endangerment of a child, assault and criminal possession of a controlled
substance.

Iwill be very interested in seeing the investigation of the agency who purportedly inspected the
aycare just the week before and found nothing. If there was drug manufacturing equipment
in the tiny place, it wasn't much of an inspection -- or maybe, as has happened before, it
no inspec...

Are they citizens or illegals?
If they are illegals how did they get the proper licensing to open a day care? NYS and NYC have
of the most restrictive laws on everything so how did this happen?

So just based on their names, you flip out into an "illegals" rant?
Are you a full time racist or just a tough guy in an anonymous comment section?

re encouraged, destructive riots in the guise of protests are encouraged, shoplifting is
and no more bail required, all in the last few years. That didn't take long. All

The city has certainly changed, and not for the better. I was a diehard who said I would
ever leave, but now I am starting to feel stupid for staying here. Things better improve
the next elections, or I am gone. Yeah, I know you don't care. At least I have the
