Be Proactive
• The adjective proactive can describe a person who gets things
done
• If you are proactive, you make things happen, instead of
waiting for them to happen to you
• Active means "doing something"
• The prefix pro- means “before”
• Take responsibility for your life. REACTIVE-PROACTIVE
Be Structured
• “Habits are sacred because they give deliberate structure to
our lives. Structure gives us a sense of security. And that sense
of security is the ground of meaning.”
• Eg. Praying on time, Azkar, Studies, helping mother etc.
• How to go about it?
• Create batch /theme days
• Plan your week on a Sunday
• Plan your day the night before( Take account/ Jaiza)
• Stick to a intentional morning routine
• Make time for self care.
Be Focussed
• “Let your faith be bigger than your fear“- unknown

• Assess your Mental Focus


• Eliminate Distractions
• Limit your focus (limit multitasking)
• Live in the moment (counter the Waswasa)

• First things first
• Important things in life should be given priority

3 R’s of Habit Formation
Importance of Consistency
• Narrated `Aisha:
• The Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬was asked, "What deeds are loved most by
Allah?" He said, "The most regular constant deeds even
though they may be few." He added, 'Don't take upon
yourselves, except the deeds which are within your ability."
• Bukhari 6465
Some Desired Habits of a Momin
• Sincerity (Ikhlas)
• Repentance (Tauba)
• Patience (Sabr)
• Truthfulness (Sachai)
• Watchfulness (Muraqaba)
• Piety (Taqwa)
• Trust in Allah (Yaqeen o Tawakkal)
• Steadfastness (Isteqamat)
• Hastening for Good Deeds
• Striving (Mujahada)
Sincerity (Ikhlas)
• They were not commanded but to worship Allah, sincere to
him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and
to give charity, for that is the upright religion. (98:5)
• Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but rather
what reaches him is devotion from you. (22:37)
• Hadith: Verily, deeds are only with intentions….
Repentance (Tauba)
• Turn to Allah in repentance, all of you believers, that you
might succeed. (24:31)
• Seek forgiveness from your Lord and turn to Him in
repentance. (11:3)
• O you who believe, turn to Allah with sincere repentance.
(66:8)
• By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and I repent to him
more than seventy times in a day. (Bukhari)
• O people, turn to Allah in repentance. Verily, I repent to him
one hundred times in a day. (Muslim)
Patience (Sabr)
• O you who believe, be patient and endure and stand guard
and fear Allah that you may be successful. (3:200)
• We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and
a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to
the patient. (2:155)
• Verily, only the patient will receive their reward without
reckoning. (39:10)
• O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer.
Verily, Allah is with the patient. (2:153)
Truthfulness (Sachai)
• O you who have faith, fear Allah and be with those who are
true. (9:119)
• Verily, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing
men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient
women, the truthful men and truthful women, the ..(33:35)
• Whoever honestly asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will give
him the status of a martyr even if he dies in his bed. (Muslim)
Watchfulness (Muraqaba)
• He who sees you stand up to pray and your movements with
those who prostrate, (26:218-219)
• "He is with you wherever you are. (57:4)
• Allah - Him from whom nothing is hidden, either on earth or
in heaven. (3:5)
• (Allah) knows the eyes' deceit and people's breasts conceal.
(40:19)
• Fear Allah wherever you are and follow up an evil action with
a good action which will wipe it out. Treat people well.
(Tirmidhi)
Piety (Taqwa)
• O you who have faith, fear Allah as it is his right to be feared
and do not die except while you are Muslims. (3:102)
• O you who have faith, fear Allah and speak words of
straightforward truth. (33:70)
• Whoever fears Allah, Allah will make for him a way out from a
place he does not expect. (65:2-3)
• Dua: O Allah, I ask you for guidance, righteousness, chastity,
and independence. (Muslim)
Trust in Allah (Yaqeen o Tawakkal)
• Reliance & Conviction
• When the believers saw the companies, they said: This is what
Allah and His messenger had promised us, and Allah and his
messenger spoke the truth. It only increased their faith and
submission. (33:22)
• Those to whom the people said: Indeed, the people have
gathered against you, so fear them! But it only increased their
faith, and they said: Sufficient for us is Allah, and he is an
excellent guardian. (3:173)
• Rely upon the Living, who does not die, and exalt his praise.
(25:58)
Steadfastness (Isteqamat)
• Verily, those who say our Lord is Allah and then remain
upright, the angels will descend upon them, saying: Do not
fear nor grieve, and receive glad tidings of Paradise that you
have been promised. (41:30)
• Verily, those who say our Lord is Allah and then remain
upright, they will not fear, nor will they grieve. Those are the
companions of Paradise, abiding therein as a reward for what
they have done. (46:13-14)
• Say, ‘I have faith in Allah,’ and then remain steadfast. (Muslim)
Hastening for Good Deeds
• So race each other to the good (2:148)
• Race each other to forgiveness from your Lord and for a
Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for
the godfearing. (3:133)
• Hadith: Hasten to actions during the times of sedition which
will be like patches of black night. A man will be a believer in
the morning and an unbeliever in the evening, or a believer in
the evening and an unbeliever in the morning. He will sell his
deen for the goods of this world. (Muslim)
Striving (Mujahada)
• As for those do jihad in Our Way, We will guide them to Our
paths. Truly Allah is with the good-doers (29:69)
• And worship your Lord until whay is Certain comes to you
(15:99)
• Whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it (99:7)
• When the slave comes towards Me a hand-span, I go an arm-
length towards him. When he comes towards Me an arm-
length, I go a fathom towards him. When he comes towards
Me walking, I go towards him running. (Bukhari)
