OUR
FOUNDERS
As you may know, Altra started in the back
room of a specialty store in the Wasatch
Mountains. Early concepts were made in a toaster
oven and were created to try a new way to reduce
the injuries of our customers. That same spirit and
purpose exists today to help people move and feel
better. We want to thank you for coming along on
“The Journey” (the name of our logo) with us to help
set people’s feet free and improve their form.
Altra has come a long way in the 5 plus years since
we released our first, and only shoe at the time, to a
handful of daring retailers. Today we make 21 differ-
ent models and sell in over 50 countries across the
globe. Because our shoes are so unique, we firmly
believe that most of this growth comes from word
of mouth recommendations. As a result, we truly ap-
preciate everyone who takes the time to spread the
Altra love with others.

For this season, we’re particularly excited about our

two new shoe categories; I (Golden) am excited for
our two new racing styles—the Duo and the Van-
ish-R. With the choice of either the max-cushioned
lightweight Duo or the true racing flat style of the
Vanish-R you now have a foot shaped racer no mat-
ter how much cushion you like! And I (Brian) can’t
wait for the launch of our “Everyday by Altra” cate-

NEUTRAL
True to Altra’s roots, our neutral shoes encourage a natural,
comfortable stride with no added guidance or support. The
majority of runners will find their fit here and luckily, they are
available in a variety of cushioning levels to suit any runner’s
cushioning needs.

DYNAMIC SUPPORT
Our Dynamic Support category was born out of a need for
a more natural approach to stability shoes. This category
provides guidance for overpronating, weak or tired feet, but,
as opposed to the posting in traditional stability shoes, it only
kicks in when you need it.

TRAIL
Inspired by the mountains of Utah, Altra’s trail roots are
where it all began. We developed our extensive trail line to
meet our demands and needs as ultra runners and trail lovers.
Our trail line ranges from the max cushioned, Olympus to the
original Altra trail shoe, the Lone Peak, to the lightly cush-
ioned King MT, and even includes two mid styles.

CASUAL
Everyday by Altra is our casual category, it epitomizes our
growth and maturity as more than a running brand, we are a
footwear brand. We have always been dedicated to helping
you run better, and now, with the launch of our sophisticated
Everyday by Altra lineup, we can help you live healthy. This
category was definitely influenced by constant feedback from
customers wishing they could wear their Altra’s everyday and
look the part in the office or out on the town—now they can!

FEATURES

Traditional running shoes feature pointy toe boxes that

squeeze the toes out of their natural position—increasing
risk of bunions, hammertoes and plantar fasciitis. Altra’s
FootShape™ toe box allows the toes to relax and spread out
naturally and the big toe to remain in a straight position.
This reduces over-pronation, enhances stability and creates
a powerful toe-off to maximize running performance.

Most running shoes feature elevated heels that promote

poor form by encouraging high-impact overstriding. You
were born without an elevated heel and Altra allows you to
maintain a natural foot position throughout your run. Every
Altra shoe features a Zero Drop™ platform that places
the heel and forefoot the same distance from the ground.
This naturally aligns the feet, back and body posture and
encourages a low-impact landing.

Women’s feet are anatomically different than men’s feet.

Women have a narrower heel and midfoot, higher instep,
longer arch and unique metatarsal spacing. The Fit4Her™
technology means we customize every women’s shoe to
the unique shape of the female foot.
