SUGGESTED DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES

GIRL SCOUT WEEK CELEBRATION


September 17-23, 2023
Theme: “125 Years of Living Legacy:
Remembering the Life of Josefa Llanes Escoda”

DAY 1 - FAITH DAY


#GSFaithDay2023

Suggested Activities:
● Participate actively in a Worship Service - through
SEPTEMBER 17 online or face-to-face if permitted such as Holy
Sunday Mass, Prayer Meetings, Praise and Thanksgiving
Services, Sabbath, etc.
● Make a bible verse paper chime. Be creative and
innovative when making your chime.

● Choose at least one activity in the Challenge of
Spirituality under the 8-point Challenge Program.
Explain the chosen activity/ies via informational
video.
● For those members of the Catholic Girl guiding,
share about your experience in any activities.

DAY 2 - TROOP LEADER'S DAY

Suggested Activities:
● Spend quality time with your Troop Leader through
SEPTEMBER 18 any social media platform, or face-to-face if
Monday permitted.
● Have a 'duet' or 'group' performance with your
Troop Leader. You can sing or dance through any
platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or Tiktok, etc.
● Create a compilation video or a collage depicting
the important role of Troop Leaders.
● Send a special message to your Troop Leader. This
can be done individually, as a patrol, or as a troop.

DAY 3 - ENVIRONMENT DAY

SEPTEMBER 19
Tuesday Suggested Activities:
● Miniature Garden. Each council will conduct a
contest for all levels and select one winner for each
level.
● Recycle old clothes and turn them into a
fashionable and trendy outfit. Make sure that they
don’t portray nudity but class! (eg. Tie dye shirts,
dresses, etc.)
● Upcycle trash/old items that can be found inside
the house and make it into a useful school supply
(e.g. recycled notebook, DIY pencil holder, etc,)
● Put up a garage sale for preloved clothes and items
that can still be used.
● Photo e-SEA (adapted from the SDGs and Me
Booklet). Cut pictures from old magazines,
newspapers, or books that will allow ypu to create
a photo essay, then glue them on a piece of paper.
Describe your output and write down your
realizations as caption.

DAY 4 - ESCODA/FOUNDER'S DAY

Suggested Activities:
● Conduct/Hold Scout's Own Ceremony for Josefa
SEPTEMBER 20 Llanes Escoda.
Wednesday ● Have an interactive storytelling on the life of Josefa
Llanes Escoda.
● Conduct a Council JLE Conference.
● Read about the life of the Founder. Reflect and
share how you ought to be a role model like JLE.
● Boost the fundraising campaign for Camp Escoda.
● Contribute to the JLE Memento Fund. Each Girl
Scout and Leader may contribute by divisible of
Five Pesos, Twenty-Five Pesos, and One Hundred
Twenty-Five Pesos (Php 5.00, Php 25.00 or Php
125.00). Collections for this year will be part of the
fund-raising efforts to help develop Camp Escoda
in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

DAY 5 - GIRL'S DAY

Suggested Activities:
● Decelerating Inequality — Digitally! (adapted
from the SDGs and Me Booklet)
○ With your troop or a patrol, discuss how the
movement for gender equality has
progressed over time.
○ Make use of available resources to read up
on the struggles ( e.g., Filipinas didn't have
SEPTEMBER 21 the right to vote until 1937) experienced by
Thursday women and young girls before. Reflect
whether these struggles are still being
experienced at present day or have been
eradicated.
○ Create a digital infographic showing
research on the "then and now" status of
women in society and how these were
accomplished.
○ Share your work on your preferred digital
platforms.
● Organize a Girls' Day Out (e.g., watch a movie, go
on a lunch date, etc.) with your patrol or troop.
Share about your day out and how Girl Scouting
has been instrumental in your friendship.
● Share/Post about your Girl Scouting journey.
Highlight how Girl Scouting has empowered you as
a young woman or a girl.

DAY 6 - COMMUNITY DAY

Suggested Activities:
SEPTEMBER 22 ● Adopt a community for a day. Do an outreach
Friday program, gift giving, a talk, book donation drive etc.
Given if this will happen in a school setting, a
“community” can be a group of students.
● Create a 30-second video of your contribution to
your community. (eg. outreach, clean-up drives,
etc.) The featured project could be (but not
necessary) under one of GSP's Community
Development Projects:
○ Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme
○ Magic Spot Project
○ Pilar Hidalgo Lim Troop Achievement Award
○ Amelita Dayrit-Go Community-based Troop
Award

DAY 7 - FAMILY DAY

Saturday
Suggested Activities:
● Cook a family meal (can be breakfast, lunch,
dinner) during this day. Take photos of the cooked
meal and the family eating together. Upload it to
your personal FB account and/or also include it to
your family’s photo album.
● Invite your family to a small game (e.g., Scrabble,
Jenga, etc.) at home.
● Create special letters for members of your family as
a way of appreciation for their impact to you.

Note: Adopt/Modify the activities accordingly, taking into account the different age levels (Star,
Twinkler, Junior, Senior, and Cadet). Councils/Troops may also have their own set of activities.
