3 Regulations, Codes and Standards

All activities shall comply with legal and regulatory health, safety, environmental and quality
requirements, as a minimum.

3.1 Classification
The project has chosen to invoke selected certification activities for the process unit with the class
notation, PROD, under the supervision of DNV GL AS, the project’s classification society. This process
requires DNV GL to execute a design review, manufacturer quality control, and manufacturing
procedures review according to DNVGL-OS-E201, January 2017, amended July 2017.

The SUPPLIER is responsible for ensuring that the total scope of work is fully in accordance with the
design, construction, inspection, testing and certification requirements of the CLASSIFICATION
SOCIETY.

5 Valve Data Sheets (VDS)

HOLD – To be followed in next revision

6 VDS Annex A

6.1 Valve Internals

STANDARD PRODUCT FORM GRADE/TYPE
Valve Internals Min 13Cr4Ni

• Valve internals shall be made from a forging, seamless pipe, plate, or bar material according
to an ASTM standard. Equivalent recognized standard may be used but corresponding ASTM
standard and grade to be identified. Materials shall meet the requirements of NACE
MR0175/ISO 15156.
• Min 13% Cr and 4% Ni
• Weld repair is not acceptable.
• A certificate in accordance with ISO 10474/EN 10204 Type 2.2 shall be issued.

6.2 Valve Testing

• API6D, API6A, API602, relevant for the valve code
• Air Seat Test shall be included.
• Use of sealant or lubricating oil on seal surfaces is not permitted
• Reassembly after dismantling shall require new gaskets and dismantling due to stem leakage
shall require new stem seal to be fitted.
• Pressure testing shall be repeated after reassembly.
• The hydrostatic test fluid shall be potable water with chloride content less than 20 ppm.
• The high-pressure closure test shall be included for all valves.
• The following valves shall have seat leakage measured through the body cavity:
Double seated Ball valves, which can isolate cavity from line pressure, Gate valves of through
conduit design with expanding gate or floating seats, and valves having two obturators in
series within one valve body, such as twin plug valves and various modular valves. Each seat
and each obturator to be tested. The valve should be mounted to allow free release of any
bubbles from the valve seat area and so that bubbles are readily observed.

6.3 Hand Wheels, Wrenches and Gear Boxes

• For valves operated manually, the maximum force required under design and test conditions,
when applied at the rim of the hand-wheel or lever, shall not exceed 81 lbf (360 N). This applies
to seating, unseating, and operating at maximum pressure differential at both minimum
operating temperature and ambient temperatures.

Project: Golar Gimi FLNG – HRSG Modules Date: 01.07.2019

• Drive to be suitable for any stem orientation of operation, horizontal to vertical up.
• Lever and handwheel shall be secured by a nut or dowel pin and an additional locking to
provide robust double retention.
• Unless otherwise agreed, wrench or handwheel for valves made from corrosion resistant alloy
shall be in AISI 316 stainless steel material.
• Wrench and hand-wheel shall be made from solid material, suitable for the environmental
conditions. Hollow components shall not be allowed except for gear hand wheels.
• Hand-wheel diameter shall not exceed twice the face-to-face or 32 in (800 mm).
• Wrench length shall not exceed twice the face-to-face or 24 in (600 mm).
• If the force or dimensional limitations are exceeded, the valve shall be provided with a
gearbox.

6.4 General
• The Supplier shall supply a valve maintenance instruction manual. This shall include required
pre-tension (or torques) for bolting in the valve bonnet and body flanges (closures).
• Through conduit gate valves:
• Valves shall be suitable for installation in any position. (except for stem below horizontal).
• Bonnet shall be equipped with a grease fitting for lubrication to stem packing area. Grease
fittings shall either be of one-piece double ball type or two-piece double ball with block.
