Deer and Wolf Population
Deer and Wolf Population
Deer and Wolf Population
Analysis
1. Construct a graph for the deer and wolf populations. Use one color to
show deer populations and another color to show wolf populations.
2. Describe what happened to the deer and wolf populations between 1971
and 1980.
In 1971-1975 the wolves were going very crazy and eating and killing the deers.
The deer population got very low and the wolf population increased. There was
not a lot of food on the island and not enough deer for all the wolves to eat. They
starved. Most of the wolves died leaving the wolf and deer population the same
population as we wanted.
3. What do you think would have happened to the deer on the island had
wolves NOT been introduced?
I think that if wolves were not introduced to the island, there's a good
chance that the deer population would have been unlimitedly. They would
have died out because there would have not been enough food to support
all the present deer on the island.
