OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES (OER) – ICT INTEGRATION ON THE FOURTH & FIFTH
DAY
A. OFFLINE APPLICATIONS
The participants showed a very high enthusiasm on the development of skills in ICT.
The active participation and engagement of participants lead to the development of authentic skills:
o The teachers learned the use of an application like “THE HAT” in grouping learners. The
application could be adapted in the classroom and will give a fair grouping for the learners.
o The teachers acquired a skill in the preparation of assessments using the LUMI apps.
o The teachers learned how to develop offline activities like the crossword puzzle, matching
type and multiple choice of assessments using ICT.
o The teachers were given the time to demonstrate the newly acquired ICT skills with the
supervision & technical assistance of colleagues.
o All teachers showed a positive response to ICT skills most especially the teachers nearing to
the retirement. Not withstanding the time that they will make use of the acquired skills, the
teachers actively engage themselves in the activity and they were able to produce and share an
output of the skills they acquired.
o The teachers reflected that the preparation of ICT –based learning resources is not easy but
the convenience and benefits for the learners are never undermined. They are engaging to
learners so integration of it the class was noted to be of utmost advantage for the learners.
The resource speaker shared another enjoyable online application used for the preparation of
assessments and that is the use of google forms.
The teachers actively engaged in another ICT-based skill. The participation of each was seen in the
production of individual outputs which were shared for the assessment by all participants.
o Each participant developed a multiple choice questions for online assessment. All participants
were able to produce an output and shared it in the group chat.
o The teachers noted joyfully that technology somehow gives another level to empowerment to
the teaching-learning process though acquiring the skills maybe considered as a challenge but
a very memorable one.
o The technical assistance extended to colleagues developed a sense of concern to everyone
whereby all are sensitive to the needs of colleagues especially in the use of ICT in the
workplace.
o The teachers were challenged to use ICT and integrate the application of it in their classes.
C. CLOSING PROGRAM
The school recognized the unwarranted performance of teachers noting the high engagement of each
participant in the conducted activity.
It was revealed from the reflections of the participants that once in a while professional development
is updated through the collaboration of each.
The initiatives and efforts of teachers were recognized by the school head through the certificates
given as an award to each participant.
The contribution of each participant was acknowledged and given due credit.
The activity was put to an end by the school head noting that all topics discussed, skills shared, and
reflections given for geared for the professional development of every participant so that they will
make use of it for the improvement of their performance in the teaching-learning process.
Another was the slow internet connectivity especially when the ICT skills
required online applications. The discussions were done by the resource speakers
on the scheduled time and the demonstration was done when the strength of the
internet connectivity improved.
The particpants reflected a very satisfactory to outstanding appreciation to the conduct of the activity
and the knowledge learned they acquired from the five-day training.
