II. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE
DepEd Order No. 34 s. 2022 reiterates the mandate stipulated in the SY: 2022-2023 School Calendar on the
conduct of Midyear Performance Review and Evaluation and the School-Based In-Service Training for Teachers.
In response to the mandate Butigue National High School adhere to the call to conduct in-service training for
the professional growth of its teachers and effectively cater the needs of the new normal situation. In line with its
mission for the professional growth of its teachers and employees, the school will evaluate its progress in the
implementation of the educational programs, projects and activities as well performance of teachers and other school
staff to address concerns through cooperative effort.
Further, teachers and employees of Butigue National High School need to be updated on the Multi-Year
Guidelines on the Establishment and Implementation of the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS)
in the Department of Education as stipulated in DM 008 s. 2023 and pursuant to Section 5 of DO No. 42 s. 2017 on
the National Adoption and Implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), which
mandates that all performance appraisals for teachers shall be based on the PPST set of standards.
The school strongly believes that the topics are essential to empower the performance of teachers for quality
delivery of service to its learners and stakeholders.
With the specified intentions, this activity is highly initiated.

III. OBJECTIVE: The conduct of the activity aims to:


1. Conduct performance review and in-service training for teachers towards their professional
advancement and development.
IV. METHODOLOGIES: For effective facilitation of the activity, the proponents will use the combinations
of the following methodologies:
- Sharing, brainstorming, workshop, lectures, presentation of outputs and critiquing, collaborative
review, writing of TRF and reflection notes

V. EXPECTED OUTPUT:
- Teachers are updated on the content of DM 008 s. 2023
- Evaluated IPDP, IPCRF and OPCRF
- Accomplished Self – Assessment Tool for TI-TIII

Participants from the in-service training were the teaching and non-teaching personnel of the school.

II. RESOURCE PERSON/S AND FACILITATORS

The in-service training or the mid-year assessment activity utilized the expertise of the teachers and
other non-teaching personnel as its resource speakers. All participants were given parts to do in the 5-day
activity. Some of the teachers were assigned to check the attendance, lead on the management of learning,
collect outputs of every activity and file copies of outputs for SBM purposes in the office. Others
volunteered to do tasks like cleaning-setting up the venue every day. Some colleagues also mindfully
checked on the preparation of food. The remaining members of the group assist the teachers who are in need
of technical assistance.

It was shown from the table that all personnel of the school became the participants of the activity
and at the same time performed tasks as assigned by the proponents. This proved that as a family of
professionals in the school, all need to engage in any update for learning towards professional growth and
development. With the conducted activity, the participants were fuelled with further learning and reflected
from past performances. The reflections of teachers and other personnel paved the way for better giving of
efficient service to learners, parents and other stakeholders.

III. DOCUMENTATION & ATTENDANCE


The five day activity captured the collaborative efforts of all participants to make it interactive, avenue for
sharing and learning.

also opened the activity with a prayer and warm welcome.
The participants doing motivational exercises before starting lectures of each day. Tasks for the
management of learning were distributed to different participants who will lead for the dance.

During the lectures on the given topics, the resource speakers made it interactive. The
participants were also given time to share their ideas, knowledge about the topic. Discussion part
served as avenue for learning for everyone. Workshops were also integrated in the schedule to
finish an output. Sharing of an output and application of things learned were also a part of the
activity.

The participants shared their expectations for the activity as it was opened for the Day1. On
the 1st day, the phase 1 of the RPMS as prescribed by DM ache8, s. 2023 were done. The
participants reviewed their Self-Assessment Tool and updated their IPDP.

IV. HIGLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY


REVIEW OF RPMS PHASE 1 & PHASE 2 ON THE FIRST DAY
 The participants were able to assess the level of their competence based on the given criteria in the
PPST using the self-assessment tool.
 The teachers were able to adjust their professional development target based on the priority needs
reflected in the SAT.
 The participants were able to produce an output in the RPMS Phase I:
o Reviewed SAT
o Summary of SAT
o Updated IPDP
 Each teacher reviewed their performance based on the objectives of IPCRF as specified on the DM
008, s. 2023.
 The teachers were able to gauge the level of their performance based on the given targets in the
IPCRF.
o The teachers produced an output for RPMS Phase 2

REVIEW ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCHOOL PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES –


EVALUATION / ASSESSMENT OF SIP, AIP, APP & PPMP ON THE SECOND DAY

 The content of the SIP as was crafted by the school planning team was presented to the teachers and
data were reviewed and checked based on records.
 The presenter, also noted some objectives in the CFSS to be given more extensive action by the
school.
 The school head presented the AIP, APP & PPMP for evaluation and assessment.
o The school head stressed and reiterated the need to spend the MOOE of the school based on
the identified needs in the AIP, APP & PPMP.
 Advisers of each class also presented the accomplishments of the HPTA based on the identified
priority need in the class which were given actions.
o The following were projects realized by the HPTA with the established partnership among
teachers, parent, guardian, learners and other stakeholders.

PRESENTATION OF DM 008, S. 2023, RPMS TOOLS & CODE OF ETHICS ON THE THIRD DAY

 The LAC leader presented the new guideline of RPMS as mandated in the DM 008, s. 2023.
 RPMS Tools were also presented and emphasis was made on the content of the COT for classroom
demonstration.
o The teachers clarified that only 2 COT is needed for the portfolio this school year.
o The teachers learned how to reflect the integration of ICT in their DLL
o The knowledge of the teachers was intensified specially on the preparation of DLL and its
attachments for COT purposes.
o The participants were clarified that the schedule on the classroom observation for COT
purposes will be done by the teacher not the observer.
o The teachers were empowered to excel for their own COT for their professional development.
o The discussion on the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers was integrated in the
discussion of RPMS tools and objectives.
o The teachers shared their experiences and reflected on the appropriate actions to be
undertaken in certain circumstances.

OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES (OER) – ICT INTEGRATION ON THE FOURTH & FIFTH
DAY
A. OFFLINE APPLICATIONS
 The participants showed a very high enthusiasm on the development of skills in ICT.
 The active participation and engagement of participants lead to the development of authentic skills:
o The teachers learned the use of an application like “THE HAT” in grouping learners. The
application could be adapted in the classroom and will give a fair grouping for the learners.
o The teachers acquired a skill in the preparation of assessments using the LUMI apps.
o The teachers learned how to develop offline activities like the crossword puzzle, matching
type and multiple choice of assessments using ICT.
o The teachers were given the time to demonstrate the newly acquired ICT skills with the
supervision & technical assistance of colleagues.
o All teachers showed a positive response to ICT skills most especially the teachers nearing to
the retirement. Not withstanding the time that they will make use of the acquired skills, the
teachers actively engage themselves in the activity and they were able to produce and share an
output of the skills they acquired.
o The teachers reflected that the preparation of ICT –based learning resources is not easy but
the convenience and benefits for the learners are never undermined. They are engaging to
learners so integration of it the class was noted to be of utmost advantage for the learners.

B. ONLINE APPLICATION (GOOGLE FORMS)

 The resource speaker shared another enjoyable online application used for the preparation of
assessments and that is the use of google forms.
 The teachers actively engaged in another ICT-based skill. The participation of each was seen in the
production of individual outputs which were shared for the assessment by all participants.
o Each participant developed a multiple choice questions for online assessment. All participants
were able to produce an output and shared it in the group chat.
o The teachers noted joyfully that technology somehow gives another level to empowerment to
the teaching-learning process though acquiring the skills maybe considered as a challenge but
a very memorable one.
o The technical assistance extended to colleagues developed a sense of concern to everyone
whereby all are sensitive to the needs of colleagues especially in the use of ICT in the
workplace.
o The teachers were challenged to use ICT and integrate the application of it in their classes.

C. CLOSING PROGRAM

 The school recognized the unwarranted performance of teachers noting the high engagement of each
participant in the conducted activity.
 It was revealed from the reflections of the participants that once in a while professional development
is updated through the collaboration of each.
 The initiatives and efforts of teachers were recognized by the school head through the certificates
given as an award to each participant.
 The contribution of each participant was acknowledged and given due credit.
 The activity was put to an end by the school head noting that all topics discussed, skills shared, and
reflections given for geared for the professional development of every participant so that they will
make use of it for the improvement of their performance in the teaching-learning process.

V. PROBLEMS, ISSUES AND CONCERNS RAISED & RESOLUTIONS


o The only problem encountered by the participants during the conduct of the activity were
following:
 Power Interruption-interruptions could never be detected so the speakers use the
cellular phones of the participants as monitors of their powerpoint presentations to
make the discussion uninterrupted.

 Another was the slow internet connectivity especially when the ICT skills
required online applications. The discussions were done by the resource speakers
on the scheduled time and the demonstration was done when the strength of the
internet connectivity improved.

VII. MONITORING & EVALUATION


The school head constantly monitored the conduct of the activity with the supervision of the Public
Schools District Supervisor (PSDS).

The particpants reflected a very satisfactory to outstanding appreciation to the conduct of the activity
and the knowledge learned they acquired from the five-day training.
