Aspiration towards Sukhāvatī

འ་ནས་་མ་བ་ི་ོགས། །
di né nyima nub kyi chok
From here, over in the direction of the setting sun,

ངས་ད་འག་ེན་བལ་བ་སར། །
drangmé jikten galwé sar
In a place many countless worlds away,

མ་དག་ང་ཁམས་བ་བ་ཅན། །
namdak zhingkham dewachen
Lies the utterly pure realm of Sukhāvatī, 'the Blissful',

་ན་ོགས་པ་སངས་ས་མག །
dé na dzokpé sangye chok
There resides the supreme and perfect Buddha,

་འོད་དཔག་་ད་པ་བགས། །
tsé ö pak tu mepa zhuk
Boundless Life and Light.

མན་པོ་་ལ་ག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
gönpo dé la chaktsal lo
To that Lord and protector, I pay homage.

ད་ལ་ན་བཟང་མད་ིན་འལ། །
yitrul kunzang chötrin bul
I offer clouds of imagined gifts, just like Samantabhadra's.

་རབས་བསགས་པ་ིག་པ་བཤགས། །
tserab sakpé dikpa shak
I confess misdeeds accumulated over many lifetimes.

འོ་ན་ད་ལ་ེས་་རང་། ། 1
འོ་ན་ད་ལ་ེས་་རང་། །
dro kün gé la jé yi rang
I rejoice in the virtuous actions of all beings.

ས་ི་འར་ལོ་བོར་བར་བལ། །
chö kyi khorlo korwar kul
I request the turning of the Wheel of Dharma.

་ངན་་འདའ་བགས་གསོལ་འབས། །
nya ngen mi da zhuk soldeb
I pray that you do not pass into nirvāṇa.

བདག་་ས་གམ་ད་ཚོགས་ིས། །
dak gi dü sum gé tsok kyi
And, through the virtues amassed in past, present and future,

འ་ནས་་འཕོས་ར་མ་ཐག །
di né tsé pö gyur ma tak
I pray that as soon as my life ends and I pass from here,

ང་མག་ར་ེས་མན་་བན། །
zhing chok der kyé gön dezhin
I may be born in that sublime realm, and, like the Lord himself,

བདག་ང་དོན་གས་ན་ཚོགས་། །
dak kyang dön nyi püntsok té
Perfectly achieve my own and others' aims—

ས་པར་ད་་འབ་མཛད་གསོལ། །
ngepar nyi du drub dzé sol
Make this wish of mine come true, I pray!

ས་པ་བ་བ་ཅན་ི་ོན་ལམ་ང་བས་ཙམ་ག་ན་ེར་་དས་པས་ོམ་པར་་ས་འོང་པ་་མ་དང་ིས་་
དན་ི་་མ་ཀ་ོ་ོས་ི་དད་འན་བཟང་པོ་བལ་ར། ཀ་པ་་དམར་ད་པན་འན་པས་གངས་སོ།།
This was spoken by the Karmapa holder of the Red Hat in response to the fine and ardent requests of Karma Lodrö,
the lama of Gina Monastery, and Drongpa Lama, who said there was a need for brief aspiration prayer for
Sukhāvatī that could be recited regularly.
