Indonesian Transportation Problems..(1)
Poor road condition reducing speed
 Less quality of road, especially in local area
 Road Condition becomes dangerous and high congestion
 Travelled distance become 2,6 hours per 100 km

The slow step of reform and development in the railway

sector
 The growth in the railway sector is only 7.7% of the total
4,800 km double track. The freight and passenger trains use
the same track
 Time efficiency in the network sector is very low

Less balance modes composition in the transportation

sector
 The high use of private vehicles became a source of
congestion in the big city
 According to the survey, Jakarta is dominated by private
vehicles by 62 % which means about 10 million commuters

5
Indonesian Transportation Problems…(2)

Performance of the port sector

 The main problem of the port sector is loading and unloading time.
Tanjung Priok port loading and unloading time is longer than in Thailand and
Singapore .

Over capacity in Air Transport network

 Since the enactment of deregulation in 2004, the development of air transport,
increased into double digits every year, while the slow development of the airport
can not pursue the demand rate
