Solidaritat Catalana per la Independncia considers ETAs cease-fire is positive

Solidaritat Catalana per la Independncia considers that the permanent, general and verifiable cease/fire announced today by ETA is very positive. The representative in the Catalan Parliament Uriel Bertran stated that they hope that this cease-fire may be good for clearing Euskal Herrias way towards the independence through peaceful and democratic channels and has requested the Spanish state, and the parties PP and PSOE to get involved in a process verified by international observers and to accept the right to self-determination of Basque and Catalan nations. Also, representative in the Catalan Parliament Alfons Lpez Tena stated we hope it to be definitive and the end of violence for ever in Euskal Herria.

SOLIDARITAT CATALANA PER LA INDEPENDNCIA AND THE ABERTZALE LEFT HAVE MADE OFFICIAL THEIR RELATIONSHIPS AND WILL SHARE THE STRATEGIES OF BASQUE AND CATALAN PEOPLE SO AS TO ACHIEVE THE INDEPENDENCE THROUGH DEMOCRATIC AND PEACEFUL CHANNELS

Two delegations of Solidaritat Catalana per la Independncia and the Abertzale Left, formed, on SI side by its spokesman and representative Uriel Bertran and by Jordi Mir, and on the Abertzale Left side, by its spokespersons Tasio Erkizia and by Miren Legorburu, have met today in San Sebastin so as to initiate formal relationships between both pro-independence groups.

Strategies used in Catalonia and Euskal Herria with the aim of achieving the independence of Basque and Catalan nations through peaceful and democratic channels, have been shared. Moreover, the current political context has been analyzed. As a result, the following statements have been shared 1- The Spanish State is immersed in a process of regional regression fostered by the PP and the PSOE. This fact reasserts the idea endorsed by our two political groups: that the only possible way to reach a future full of liberty and welfare for Catalonia and Euskal Herria is the independence for our nations.

2- We have realized that every democratic process for self-determination and aiming to the independence taking place in Euskal Herria is good for Catalonia, and that every process for self-determination taking place in Catalonia is good for Euskal Herria, as we are sharing the same domineering Spanish State, that refuses basic democratic rights to

Basque and Catalan people. Because of this fact, Solidaritat Catalana per la Independncia and the Abertzale Left will share all the strategies and information that will help us to achieve our independence through peaceful and democratic channels regarding the Spanish State. 3- Solidaritat Catalana per la Independncia believes that taking into account that currently the Abertzale Left is committed with a democratic process in Euskal Herria, it is completely untenable the fact that the Spanish State is still banning this party. It is time for the Abertzale Left to perform legally political activities, just like the other Basque political groups. 4- Solidaritat Catalana per la Independncia will support all the social and institutional initiatives aimed to back the democratic and peaceful process of self-determination of Basque and Catalan people.
