In a fast-changing world, children are at an increased risk of various chronic health
issues. Although there will undoubtedly be some negative consequences, parents
and educators can take steps to mitigate these potential problems.
Obesity has an adverse impact on the physical and mental development of
children. Firstly, adolescents are likely to risk various serious diseases such as
respiratory problems, type 2-diabetes, and heart attack. As a result, the health of
children deteriorates, which seriously affects academic performances in class. For
instance, according to one survey conducted, 80% of grade 5 students experience
obesity risks. Secondly, people who have obese, compared to those with a standard
or healthy weight, are at increased risk for mental health conditions. Obesity is
closely linked to depression, anxiety disorders, and sleep disorders. As a
consequence, youngers have to confront facial expression change, making them
change positive energy into a negative one. For example, about 75% of obese
children often have to consult a doctor for psychological problems.
In truth, some imperative measures should be taken to resolve these prospective
issues. The first solution would be to take regular exercise at home. Adolescents
should spend 15-30 minutes a day doing yoga, meditation, or pilates to improve
their overall health. Consequently, children can burn excess fat and carbohydrates
to lose weight. The second measure would be that parents and educators’
responsibility to adopt eating habits in class, and at home as well. There must be a
combination of parents and the school in monitoring every proper eating diet.
In conclusion, various measures such as regular exercise and eating healthy habits
can be taken to tackle the problems that many overweight children have become a
severe issue in some nations.
