MATTER is anything around us. It also occupies space, has mass and weight.

THREE STATES OF MATTER

Color – red, green, yellow, clear, no color.

Odor- it is how good or bad the smell of an object

Size- how big or small; short or long; tiny or huge

Shape - triangle, cylinder, square, circle or round.

Texture- how rough or smooth is an object.

Hardness- how hard or soft the material is.


GENERAL PROPERTIES OF MATTER

Weight- How heavy or light an object is.

Density-an object's ratio of mass to volume

Volume- the amount of space on an object

Mass – the amount of matter in an object

DEFINITION OF TERM

Gravity- What is gravity for 2nd grade?


Gravity is the force of attraction between two objects.
It is what makes things fall and what keeps us from floating off into space.

Remember: No object occupies the same space.
