ID-FILM 100
ID-FILM 100 is a water-dispersible, filming amine. It forms a protective film on all metal surface, helping to
prevent corrosion attack from oxygen, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. ID-FILM 100 is designed to be
used in fresh water dispersed systems and packer fluids.

Typical Physical Properties

Physical appearance Dark brown liquid

Specific gravity 0.97
pH (1% solution) 9.0

Application

ID-FILM 100 can be used in any fresh water (low-calcium) dispersed system. It should be added directly to the
mud system or through the mud hopper and then maintained at a constant level for best results. It should not
be used in sea water or salt water. For drilling fluids, a concentration of one 55-gal (208 L) drum of ID-FILM 100
per 100 to 200 bbl (15.9 to 31.8 kg/m3) of mud is recommended. Approximately one-half gal/bbl is the
optimum treatment.

Advantages

• Provides excellent corrosion inhibition for the drilling, casing and down hole tools.
• Protects metal surfaces to a down hole temperature of 3000 F (1490 C).
• Has less effect on the rheological properties of a drilling fluid than most comparable, competitive inhibitors.
• Is an ideal corrosion inhibitor in water-base packer fluids.

Toxicity and Handling

Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described in
the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Packing and Storage

ID-FILM 100 is packaged in a 55 gal (208 ltr) drums.

Store at moderate temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat, sparks, flame and all
sources of ignition.
