ID-FLO PLUS

ID-FLO PLUS filtration-control additive is a specially modified starch derivative used in water-base systems.
When used in conjunction with a bridging agent such as sized calcium carbonate or sized salt, it provides a
thin, pliable, easily removed filter cake. ID-FLO PLUS is a non-ionic, acid-soluble material especially suited for
fluids containing salts or ion-sensitive additives. ID-FLO PLUS additives acts synergistically with ID-VIS PLUS
viscosifier to enhance the low-shear-rate viscosity (LSRV) of ID-FLO system.

Application

ID-FLO PLUS additive is used to reduce fluid loss in the ID-FLO system and other water-base system. ID-FLO
PLUS elevated LSRV compared to conventional fluid-loss additives. Unlike most polyanionic cellulose or starch-
base additives that reduce the viscosity of typical reservoir drilling fluid system.

ID-FLO PLUS additives control additives can be used in freshwater and most brines including seawater, NaCl,
KCl, CaCl2 , NaBr and formate salt systems. ID-FLO PLUS resists calcium contamination over a wide pH range

and can be used at temperature to 250 F (121 C). A thermal extender is recommended when ID-FLO PLUS

starch is used in wells with bottom-hole temperature exceeding 250 F (121 C). ID-FLO PLUS starch filter cakes
will readily degrade when exposed to break free starch specific enzyme breaker.

Recommended ID-FLO PLUS additive concentrations range from 2 to 7 lb/bbl (5.7 to 20 kg/m ) for most
applications. Special ultra-low fluid-loss formulations require higher concentrations.

Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described in
the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Packing and Storage

ID-FLO PLUS is packaged in 25 kg (55.1 lb) or 50 lb (22.7 kg) multi-wall, paper sacks.
Store in dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container closed. Store away from incompatibles.
