CLASS:- VIII-

1)TAUHEED :-
The first principle of Islamic faith is belief in the Oneness
and Unity of Allah (Tauheed). This implies that Allah is the
Supereme Being, the Creator and Master of the entire
universe, the highest in authority and rank , and hence
exclusively worthy of worship.
Allah and his attributes :-
The concepts of oneness (Tauheed) implies that Allah is
single, unique and matchless both in His existence and attrbutes.
Importance of tauheed in musliums life is :-
Tawhid is rein- forced in the Shahadah and reminds Muslims
constantly of the oneness ofAllah. Belief in tawhid explains
Allah as our creator, it gives humans purpose and supports a
belief that science and religion can work to- gether as science
helps us to gain understanding about God's creation.

2) Salah :- Salat, also spelled salah, Arabic ṣalāt, the daily

ritual prayer enjoined upon all Muslims as one of the five
Pillars of Islam . There are five types of prayer are :-
 Fajr – this is performed before sunrise
 Zohr – this is performed at midday
 Asr – this is performed between Zohr and sunset
 Maghrib – this is performed at sunset
 Isha – this is performed between Maghrib and midnight

Benefits of salah :- The principle of salah is to ensure Muslims

maintain their faith and devotion to Allah SWT, to increase
taqwa (closeness to Allah SWT) and to remain conscious of the
importance of faith and submission to their Creator.
There is special importance dedicated to the Friday prayer,
which is also known as Jumaa Namaz. This prayer is performed
in congregation at the local Mosque and is led by an Imam
(leader).
There are many other prayers in Islam, such a Namaaz-e-
Mayyit, which is performed at the janaaza funeral of the
deceased and Namaaz-e-Eid, which is a prayer traditionally
performed on the mornings of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, prior
to which, all Muslims are liable to give to charity in the form of
fitrana. Other important prayer rituals also include taraaweeh,
which is a prayer offered every evening during the Holy month
of Ramadan.

3) Fasting :- During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food

and drink — yes, even water. When the sun sets, there is a
communal meal called 'Iftar' where you break your fast,
usually with your family or friends. But the month of
Ramadan is about more than just fasting. Benefits of roza is
:-
 Fasting during Ramadan is beneficial in improving
sleep and related disorders.
 It is also seen as a well-articulated way to reduce the risk of

some forms of cancer.

 Fasting is said to improve your physical fitness during this
holy month.
During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from eating any food,
drinking any liquids, smoking cigarettes, from dawn to
sunset. That includes taking medication (even if you swallow a
pill dry, without drinking any water).

4) Zakat :-
As one of the pillars of Islam, zakat is a form of
obligatory charity that has the potential to ease the suffering of
millions. With the literal meaning of the word being 'to cleanse,'
Muslims believe that paying zakat purifies, increases and blesses
the remainder of their wealth. The Benefits of Giving Zakat are:-
It purifies your wealth as Allah says in the Qur'an: It keeps
one away from sin and saves the giver from the moral ill arising
from the love and greed of wealth. Through Zakat, the poor are
cared for; these include widows, orphans, the disabled, the
needy and the destitute. Nisab is the minimum amount that a
Muslim must have before being obliged to zakat. The Nisab
was set by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) at a rate equivalent to:
87.48 grams of gold and 612.36 grams of silver. ... You can do
this by checking the market rate of gold and silver. Zakat is an
obligation and fulfillment as Zakat leads a Muslim to get the
reward from Allah the Almighty and declining Zakat leads a
Muslim to receive punishment from Him in both this life and in
the life of Akhirah (life after death). Zakat leads to the
circulation of money.

5)Hajj :- The hajj is a pillar of Islam, required of all Muslims

once in a lifetime. It is a physically demanding journey that
Muslims believe offers a chance to wipe clean past sins and start
anew before God. Pilgrims seek to deepen their faith on the
hajj, with some women adopting the head covering known as
the “hijab Hajj cleanses the soul, bringing purity, hope and
renewal. By strengthening individual faith, it also strengthens
the unity of all followers of Islam. Ihram clothing minimizes
differences between Muslims of different nationalities and social
classes.

 Learn patience, self-restraint and endurance. ...
 A spiritual and historical travel experience. ...
 Strengthen the unity of Muslims. ...
 Discover Saudi Arabia. ...
 Booking Hajj or Umrah.

The following Quranic verse signifies clearly the

importance of Hajj:
“AND PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOUSE IS THE DUTY
UNTO ALLAH FOR THE MANKIND FOR HIM WHO
CAN FIND A WAY THERE. AS FOR HIM WHO
DISBELIEVES , ( LET HIM KNOW THAT) LO!
ALLAH IS INDEPENDENT OF ALL CREATURES.”
