that are shared by many people in group.

-Are based on ethics, principles,beliefs, standards and qualities that a person or a
group of people may hold in high standard.

-Refers to the various forms of natural or man made physical space around them.

*Language
-Is very important as this is how culture is communicating to colleagues and
customers.

-Many of the laws Ina nation are developed by law based on the acceptable
practices of the members of the country. To give order and peace

-Is very strong source of cultural influences in many countries like in the Philippines.
*Social Organizations
-Due to the tourism activities, there are changes in social structure within a tourism
destination.

*Technology
-With the advent of the use of technology many of the work by tourism
professionals in various enterprises have been replaced.

Key Features of Culture

Culture is Learned
-The first teacher of the child.

Culture is Social
-A person needs to interact with other people for future to be transmitted.

Culture is Shared
-Culture is not something that an individual can pass to a person but is shared by
common group of people in a given area.

Culture is Transmitted
-The transmitted of culture can be done through practice.

Culture is Continues
-The transmission of the cultural elements of one group must be continues from
one generation to the next.

Culture Accumulative
-with so much history in society, there is bound to be changes in culture as
compared to what if was initially practice.

Culture is Integrate
-Common practice being people together, it is a way of sharing with other and
making it eisier for people to understand or give preference to other who share a
common practice.

Culture is Changing
-With the intersection of many variables across time and people, culture is bound
to change.
Culture varies from society to society
-the many sub groups in society each brings theirs own cultural mindset to a bigger
community.

tourism.

-it is a social,cultural, economic phenomenon which entails the movement of people
to countries or places outside their usual environment for personal or
business/professional purposes.

-Primary enterprise include; travel and land/sea/air transport service exclusive for
tourist.

Tourism Professional
-Help tourist and organized their tours, book and accommodation and other
facilities as well assisting guest.

-Signed last 2012 by all AMS, as a tourism is a person who holds the nationality of an
AMS certified by the
TPCB - Tourism Professional Certification Board.

Multicultural Diversity in Tourism

Multicultural Diversity
multicultural - is defined as a relating to or
made up to several cultural or
ethic groups w/in a society.
diversity - means to show a great deal of
variety being poised to embrace that
variety, various, cultures., different
beliefs.

Transportation
-is responsible for the development of civilization from very old times by meeting
travel requirements of people and of goods

Ferries & Roll on/Roll-off(RoRo)


-Are available to transport cars and busses to connecting islands.

Technology
-improvements in the transport services have made travel more efficient & effictive.

For Tourism Professional


-work applications are not confined anymore to the placed of residence or w/in the
region island or country

Tourism Professionals
-a person who helps to. Pamn and organize a tour travel.

For Customer
-the same thing as the worker, they can travel to different places and countries.

Multicultural
-is the co-existence of multiple cultures within a society, where individuals from
diverse background come together to share their unique beliefs custom.

-There is no one superior or interior culture tourism professionals should respect
differences and similiraties in any cultural elements.

-Tourism Professional should nurture themselves with new learning and grow with the
times as part of changing mindet.
