To whom it may concern:

My name is Cody Newbrough as I am writing to be considered to be a student teacher candidate
in your school district. I am currently studying Physical Education and getting a minor in Health
and Technology Education, at Dakota State University. I am currently in my fourth year of
college. I also have my coaching certificate and have experience coaching football at McCook
Central/Montrose in Salem, SD. I also have experience in playing football at the collegiate level
here at Dakota State.

During my time here at Dakota State, I was and still, developing skills that will prepare me to be
the best student teacher that I can be for your school. The best area that I believe to be the most
familiar with or the most comfortable with is Physical Education, as I have been wanting to be a
P.E. teacher as long as I can remember. My strengths in teaching is classroom management,
connecting with the students, organization, and I always think that there is room for
improvement in all areas. My biggest strength is having the students learn the basic motor skills
and creating drills/games for the students to find enjoyment to become a lifelong fitness learner.
My biggest goal when teaching Physical Education is to have the students come in with a smile,
and to leave with a smile, and to make sure that they learn how important living a healthy life is
very important. I am also very interested in to be involved in extracurricular activities, as I would
like to support students developing every aspect of their education career.
