Join Girls on the Run of Sedgwick County for this fun filled community run/walk. Enjoy views through the beautiful tree lined Forrest Hills Addition on our certified 3.1 mile course, which is fast, flat, and stroller friendly. This is the graduation 5k for our fall program participants. This event is open to men, women, and children of all ages!

Girls on the Run was founded by Molly Barker in 1996. This nationally recognized, non-profit prevention program encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The curricula addresses all aspects of girls development: physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being. It is an experiential learning program that combines training for a 3.1 mile running event with a curriculum that teaches specific and well-defined social and personal skills. Local programs are staffed by trained volunteers who serve as role models to the girls through coaching the 12 week, 21 lesson curricula, culminating in a 5k run/walk experience.
