Did you know that dog tags are valid from January 1- December 31
regardless of when they are purchased?

This means you'll have to buy a new tag for your furry friend each year.

Tags are valid from January 1 - Dogs must be licensed each year and
December 31 wear the licence on their collar
If you lose your dog tag, you can You must contact the City if a dog

You may keep up to 3 dogs in your home
Please refer to By-law 2011-156 for the complete by-law for the
licensing, regulation and control of dogs within the City of Owen Sound.

Before March 31 The Owen Sound Animal Shelter offers the

Spayed/neutered: $20 following services:
NOT spayed/neutered: $35 Caring for lost or stray animals

After March 31 Adoption services

Spayed/neutered: $30 Public education and outreach

NOT spayed/neutered: $45 Enforcement of animal control
