History of
Brutalism
Brutalist architecture is an
architectural style that emerged
during the 1950s in the United

projects of the post-war.
Brutalist buildings are characterized
by minimalist constructions that
showcase the bare building
materials and structural elements
over decorative design.
How can you tell if a building is
Brutalist?
Brutalism was generally
characterized by its rough,
unfinished surfaces, unusual
shapes, heavy-looking materials, Brutalist interior
straight lines, and small windows.

characterized by minimalist
constructions that showcase the
bare building materials and
structural elements over
decorative design.

Brutalism is an architectural style
characterized by a deliberate
plainness, crudity, and
transparency that can often be
interpreted as austere and Brutalist elements mixed with minimalistic features
menacing.

of brutalist
interior design
The style commonly makes use of
exposed, unpainted concrete or
brick, angular geometric shapes
and a predominantly monochrome
color palette.

other materials, such as steel,

timber, and glass, are also
featured.

While working with wood, they

also work with stone (a classic
brutalist material). Their bold
shapes and perfectly imperfect
patterns,
Maintenance
and longevity
Architecture wise brutalism needs
good care , As the cost of
maintenance is high and their
architectural value is not widely
acknowledged, many of these
buildings are vulnerable to the
bulldozer.

But for interior its actually easy to

incorporate and to maintain
manipulate and so on

As for longevity it can live long

since the materials are good and
usually treated chemically so they
can withstand the environment .

Conclusion

Objectively speaking brutalism

and minimalism go hand in hand
connecting humans with materials
creating a flow of energy making
you feel comfortable and relaxed
as you are exposed to such
monochromatic tones and natural
materials such as wood stone and
concrete we don’t have to hide
from the true form of construction.
