DeVils Proposal

Presentation

Monsoon Shrestha
Stakeholders
The main stake holders in my project would be the
people financing my project.
They would help with all the costs in realizing my design
comes to fruition.
Research
• I conducted interviews with two of my friends, Sam
and Michael, to get insights into the issue I was
exploring.
• I researched online to find how my problem had
been tackled previously.
POV Statement
• A customer who buys and uses a jam jar needs an
efficient way to extract all the jam from the jar,
reducing waste and hassle.
Problem Definition
Statement
• Getting all the peanut butter out of the jar is
difficult as it tends to stick to the jar's walls.
List of Easy to use

Criteria Inexpensive

Small size

Easy to cleanup

Being able to get all the jam

List of Requirements
• It should be non-slippery in hand.
• It should be child friendly.
• It shouldn't require maintenance.
• It shouldn't be metallic.
• It should have at least 1 year of shelf life.
Analytic
Hierarchy
Process
I put most of my criteria weights to the design that most
solved the problem I was working on and used thew
table to find the most suitable design.
Design 1
This spoon has curved edges and is in a shape
of an axe
Design 2
This spoon has a triangular head with soft
points at the edges.
Design 3
This spoon has a square head with soft
rounded edges.
Final CAD design

• The final design has a hook it in to make it

easier to scoop jam out of the jar. It has a
long handle to be which can be securely
held. The top would be used to get the
jam out of the jar.
Design Solves the
Problem
• The design will be easy to use and its shape will
make it easy to get all the jam out of the jar.
• The estimated cost of it will be around $4 each.
• The design has created value to the customers
by lessening the time it takes to use the jar and
reducing waste.
Summary
• I have learned to think creatively and come up with
innovative ideas. By harnessing this skill, I am able
to produce something truly distinctive and original.
