ABC Automatic Blanket Cleaner
AMR Automatic Make Ready. On AMR-capable Komori presses, paper size can be
downloaded into the console, which can move side guides & joggers on feeder and
delivery automatically. AMR data is included in KMS-IV downloads only. This is a
sequencing screen that directs the press in an interlock mode.
CIP4 International Cooperation for Integration of Processes for Prepress, Press and Postpress.
Color Connection A suite of software to maximize press efficiency and automation. Consists of Bladesetter
(PCC v2), KHS, K-ColorProfiler, and K-Station (optional).
DoNet Digital Open Architecture Network. Tools to link production, prepress, press and
postpress using standard networking protocols and software.
ICC International Color Consortium. Standards group responsible for color management data
formats.
.IS1 Native Komori ink data format. Contains image area coverage data. First used in plate
scanners.
K-ColorProfiler A software addition to PDC-S that scans a Komori color management target as a color
bar and creates ICC profiles q uickly and reduces special press runs required to capture
color gamut of presses. (App. 8 hours training)
KHS Komori High performance inking System. Console software that will automatically bring
press to standard ink film thickness, take raw image area coverage data from prepress and
convert it for press, set ink values and run test sheets without operator intervention.
Can de-ink and ink up for next job as well.
This product is sold only by Komori (App. 40 hours training)
K-LAN Komori Local Area Network. Concept of linking Komori press consoles with prepress.
Supplanted by DoNet.
K-Station Job management software that allows offline job tickets and ink keys to be created and
distributed to as many as 8 Komori consoles. Also receives real-time feedback from
press on Job Status and History, Maintenance and Error data.
KMS Komori Management System. Formerly “Monitoring” system, with KMS-IV, on-board
PC in console now can track job & press functions, status, maintenance and error data.
PDC-S/ PDC-SII Print Density Controller (with Spectrophotometry). Scanning spectrodensitometer on the
console. Can scan a color bar and report density shifts to operator during run. Can run in
“closed loop” mode, where it automatically adjusts fountains to maintain color
throughout run. For K-ColorProfiler, spectrophotometer capability is used to capture
color data of the color management target.
PCC-IV Print Color Control: software to convert from ink coverage (IS1) to console language
(PQ0). Also has transform curves for Komori presses.
.PPF Print Production File: the CIP3 file format. Includes production data for a job, as well as
a 50.8 dpi image of the sheet or plate (job preview).
.PQ0 Native console ink key data file. Generated by PCC-IV from .IS1 files.
PQC-XXX Print Quality Control. The console on a Komori press. Types include PQC-I, III & IV.
PSS Plate Scanning System. Analog plate scanner used to gather image area coverage data
from plates to download into console for ink key presetting.
NOTE: If the PQC does not have a floppy drive or network connection a converter box
called PCCII is required to export information from floppy disk to mag card.
Also, KHS is NOT AVAILABLE for PQC I with Delivery Touch Panel on L40. KHS
with PQCI on L 26/28 requires KMS.
