Developing a computational domain for the prediction

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
of in-cylinder phenomena in a Spark Ignition engine
IIT KANPUR

Introduction Methodology
• Validation of experimental data is essential to ensure the data used is
accurate. CAD model created and imported
• In-cylinder phenomena are important to understand for proper analysis
of experiments.

Results and Discussion

• The results were obtained for motoring and not combustion.
• Increase in intake pressure led to an observed increase in peak in-cylinder
pressure.
• Increase in intake temperature led to a decrease in trapped mass.
