6. I selected these specific guidelines by following different guidelines in HCI that

experts use to evaluate a website. As an Information Technology student who
frequently visits different websites every day, these are the common guidelines I
usually look for. The accessibility of a website is the most important guideline for
me as to whether or not I can access the site using my phone or my laptop
anytime. The other guidelines such as user control and freedom, error prevention,
consistency and standards, help services, and more are also important because it
helps the developers achieve higher user satisfaction and experience. This specific
set of guidelines is useful in evaluating a website’s design and interface, usability,
efficiency, and credibility in general.
7.
A. If I were to develop an emergency mobile application, the HCI criteria I would
focus on is the User Type especially in the Age category. Since emergency happens
in an unexpected time with unexpected people, it is best assumed that all ages,
children, adults and even elderly people, will access the app. To achieve a high
satisfaction rate from the users, I would make sure that the design and the overall
interface of the website are simple and easy to use. I would make sure that the
users can easily navigate and input their concerns. I would also make sure that all
the information that the user may need are in the website
B. If I were to design and develop a learning management system’s interface, the
HCI criteria I would use is the General HCI design and the display layout category.
The interface needs to have a specific menu that will cater to the users’ needs. I
would also focus on the logo and the color combination used in the system. The
information structure, user experience, and the general aesthetic are also
important to consider. I would make sure that all the information is put on the site
and the texts are easy to understand.
C. Since I am developing the interactive interface of a video editing tool, Interface
Style and Modality is the best HCI criteria that I can use, especially the multimodal
category.
