A-105 ➔ STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR CARBON STEEL FORGINGS

FOR PIPING APPLICATIONS

2. SS-316 ➔Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second

importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels.

3. Flexite Super ➔ Material contains a high number of fillers (graphite and clays)
reinforced with a fiber structure and bonded with synthetic rubber

4. ASTM A-193 Grade-7 ➔ Grade B7 is a heat-treated chromium-molybdenum

(Cr-Mo) alloy steel with minimum tensile strength requirement of 125 ksi, yield
105 ksi, and maximum hardness of 35HRC.

5. ASTM A-194 Grade-H ➔ ASTM A194 Grade 2H is a standard material

specification for high tensile nuts and other internally threaded fasteners,
made from carbon steel. Grade 2H nuts can be produced by means of hot
forging, cold forging or machining from heat treated bar stock. ASTM A194
specification covers requirements for chemical composition, heat treatment,
hardness, proof load, etc., for Grade 2H nuts.

6. Grafoil ➔ Flexible graphite was the first fluid sealing material made exclusively
from pure, natural graphite flake and it was called Grafoil® . Its resistance to
heat, fire, corrosion and aggressive chemicals make it the most universally
applicable sealing solution on the market today.

7. Non asbestos ➔ non-asbestos gasket manufacturers utilize materials such as

graphite, PTFE etc. to be used as reinforcing fibers in gaskets. These fibers come with
properties such as heat resistance, chemical resistance, temperature resistance etc.
The properties of these fibers ensure that the performance of the gaskets isn’t
affected by discontinuing the use of asbestos.

8. Borosilicate ➔ Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with the main glass-forming

constituents' silica and boron oxide. Borosilicate glasses are known for having very
low coefficients of thermal expansion (∼5 × 10−6/ °C at 20 °C) making them resistant
to thermal shock more so than any other common glass.
