BODY OF MEMO

Please make this information available to all clients interested in purchasing property
abroad.

A. Do your homework in advance. An inspection trip with an agent is a great

idea if you are planning to buy abroad, but only once you have you’re your
research on the area in advance, checked your ability to raise finance and
settled on the type of property in which you are interested. It would also be
a good idea to speak to others who have purchased in the area.

B. Find independent legal and financial representation as soon as is practical .

Choose a qualified representative with reasonable English. If possible, get a
reference from someone who has used them in the past.

C. Know exactly what you want and how much you have to spend . Work out
your finances in advance and always leave a little to spare.

D. Keep accessibility in mind. If it is difficult to get to the property, then this will
affect the future value of the property and your rental income.

E. Invest for the long term. Property should always be considered as a long
term investment for a minimum of ten years, to ensure you get a good return
on your investment.
F. Trust your instincts. If a deal sounds or looks too good to be true, then it’s
better to investigate further before signing on the dotted line.
