The Excellencies,

2. Chief Representative of JASIC;
3. ASEAN Secretariat;
4. All Delegates;
5. Distinguished Participants;
6. Ladies and gentlemen.

First of all, allow me to introduce myself my name is Dewanto

Purnacandra, the Head of Motor Vehicle Type Approval. On behalf
of the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia, I would like to address
my gratitude to all of you and give you all the warmest welcome to
Bali. Let us praise our Gratitude for the Mighty God, for the Grace
and all the blessings, that we gather here today to attend this hybrid
meeting of “13TH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE JOINT FORUM”. I would
also like to deliver my appreciation to the MLIT and JASIC on
arranging this Forum to facilitate the ASEAN Member States on
updating the progress of our readiness toward the international

standard of type approval for automotive product as we signed the
ASEAN MRA in 2021.

Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen,

As we all know that the Automotive Industry also one of the factors
which holds a significant role in economic growth. Southeast Asia is
one of the largest automotive sales in the world. The vehicle type
approval is a crucial set of activities before deciding to have a mass
produce vehicle. Considering that all Member States of ASEAN had
signed the ASEAN MRA on Type Approval for Automotive Products,
which marked that all parties have committed to adopt several
UNECE Regulations on the Vehicle Type Approval which regulated
in it.

With the hopes on this regulation implementation could make

Southeast Asia as the base production and automotive market.
ASEAN MRA will ensure the safety, quality and protecting the
automotive product environment which referred to the International
Standard of UNECE on Automotive Products. Indonesia as the
ASEAN Member State gives our full support for the implementation
of this internationally standard type approval.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,

We gather here today to talk about how far we have prepared

ourselves to be ready on facing the ASEAN MRA implementation
even to master up the developing procedure, Indonesia as the

ASEAN Member States not only not only being the biggest market
for automotive products, but also as a market base of motor vehicle
in Southeast Asia. Therefore, the role of Government is considered
as a significant on ensuring the motor vehicle which produced and
traded met the standard requirements with the Regulations, either
nationally or internationally. In accordance with that, the Ministry of
Transportation at this moment is concerned in improving the safety
standard on improving the motor vehicle.

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

May this meeting provide us with great knowledge for us, also this
13TH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE JOINT FORUM would be a success
and have a fruitful discussion. And after this meeting, you may wish
to enjoy your stay while in Bali, the view here is mesmerizing, you
can have a nice walk along the beach or simply go to shopping
store, which is very close to this venue. That would be all, may God
will always give us the Guidance.
