    In Q1 2023, there were 89,179 property transactions worth RM42.31 billion, down 12.6% and 5% respectively from Q1 2022. Residential properties made up the largest share of both transaction volume (53,923 units or 60.5%) and value (RM20.87 billion or 49.3%). Construction activity declined across all measures - completions were down 9,911 units (-25.3%), starts fell 19,861 units (-31.2%), and new planned supply dropped 12,989 units (-22.5%). The residential sector saw 3,218 units completed, 1,716 units started, and 1,645 units of new planned supply.
