Business Idea
The business idea, EBOW, mainly revolves around the concept of shared economy.
Shared economy is basically a concept which is viewed as a consumption mode, where
goods and services are shared amongst owners and the borrowers in return for a fee paid
at a fixed and a pre decided rate. The ownership rights of the good or service is
temporarily transferred to the one who borrows it.
The main concept behind the idea of Everybody on Wheels is to develop a mobile phone
application that is user friendly and allows people register themselves on it, both who
own the cars and those who don’t and are willing to rent a car for a certain time period.
Having a car is a growing need and necessity of people in this society and similarly, it is
a trend in Pakistan as well, specially due to the availability of adequate public
transportation facilities. With the platform of EBOW, an opportunity will be provided to
people to earn an extra amount of income by lending their cars in the time frame when it
is not in use to people who can drive well and have passed the registration procedure.

Mission
Our mission is to exceed customer’s expectations for quality, service and value. We want
to serve the society by providing them comfortable means of transportation and offer
better ways to people to earn livelihood by using their vehicles.
Vision
Our vision is to expand our services to the global markets and become the number 1
transportation provider in the world. We want to provide a revenue-earning platform to
people from different countries and promote cross culture learning.

Target Market
The target market for this business idea, who would be interested in borrowing the cars is
mainly the educated class, which comprises of:
 The students
 The working class

And the target market for this idea, which would be interested in lending the cars to cater
to the needs of the customers and to provide them convenience will include:
 Rent a car service
 Lower middle class/ Office going people

The working class will not only include the male category drivers, but also the females
who own cars, and can drive the cars too. The idea is to incorporate everyone, so it will
include both male and female, above the age of 18, who have a certified driving license
and are eligible to be registered. Secondly, the people getting registered must be educated
till at least O/A Levels or matric/intermediate level. This service will mainly be catering
to lower to middle class people. As for their income levels, there won’t be any
specification for that, as this service is targeting students as well, and mostly students do
not have an income stream, and if this would be the case, it would make them ineligible
for registration. This will be targeting people who are outgoing, and have a recreative
lifestyle, and are willing to spend their free time doing something productive.

Global Competitors
Turo
Turo, formerly Relay Rides, is a peer-to-peer car sharing company. Unlike traditional
car-rental services, Turo does not own or maintain any cars. The company offers
a platform by which car owners can rent their cars. Turo claims its platform reduces
rental costs compared to traditional car rental services.
People who wish to rent their cars can register their cars online to be rented by other Turo
members. The car owner states when and where the car will be available. A Turo member
who wants to rent a car reserves a specific time slot for the car online. Turo takes 10 to 35
percent of rental income, depending on the insurance coverage it provide the car owner
and pays for the amount of time they signed up for.
Zip Car
Members can reserve vehicles with Zip car’s mobile app, online, or in some places by
phone at any time, either immediately or up to a year in advance. Zip car members have
automated access to the cars using an access card which unlocks the door; the keys are
already located inside. Alternatively, members can use Zip car’s Android or iPhone app
to locate a Zip car by honking its horn as well as to unlock the doors. Zip car charges a
one-time application fee, an annual fee, and a reservation charge. Fuel, parking,
insurance, and maintenance are included in the price.

Car2go
Car2go is a German car rental company. The company offers
exclusively Smart and Mercedes-Benz vehicles and features one-way point-to-point
rentals. Users are charged by the minute, with hourly and daily rates available. The
service forgoes the typical centralized rental office, and cars are user-accessed via a
downloadable smartphone app wherever they are parked.

Local Competitors
Royal Car Rentals and Pakistan Car Rental can be a competitor for EBOW locally but no
such company is providing a wide range of cars and an ease to register your car on any
platform for rent

Suppliers
The business idea is to develop a mobile phone application that can match the both
party’s available drivers with the available cars. So the suppliers in this business would
include the software house that would develop the application for the final consumers to
use. For maintenance also software houses will be used. Since our application is a
facilitator there won’t be any specific suppliers expect the software houses.

Cost

The cost for this business model is divided in two main phases:
 Initial Setup Cost

 In this stage, the main cost included is that of the market research in order to
determine the need of the customers.
 The cost of the application development and any maintenance costs will be
required initially.
 The cost to rent the offices will be low because one in five offices will be placed
at an expensive location others will be somewhere at low cost location.
 A major chunk of investment will be required for promotion and marketing of the
app. Celebrity endorsement will be done.

 Running Cost

The running cost mainly include the application costs and the hiring costs of mechanics
who are hired to ensure the eligibility of the cars that the owners want to get registered on
this platform to ensure a safe and a good quality service for the customers.

Payments
The medium of payments will be commonly used credit cards and cash payments will
also be accepted. Royalty points can also be purchased and can be used as a medium of
payment.
The borrower will be charged with the combination of both time and distance. From the
total revenue of the lender EBOW will charge 25%. In case of delays in delivering back
the car a fine of 20% on total bill will be charged for each hour. In case of any cleaning,
pet or smoking violation car wash charges will be fined as well.

Insurance coverage
Company will have an alliance with the Insurance companies and from the revenue of
customer EBOW will charge 25% as a service fee and out of 25%, a certain portion will
be paid to the insurance company based on the fair market value of car to provide our
customers with accidental and theft coverage.

Key Assets
The key assets for EBOW mainly involve the following:
 A mobile phone application.
 2 cars in head office.

The application will serve as a key asset to the business as it will provide the main
platform for the people providing their cars for rent and the people willing to drive the
cars, and match the needs and timing convenience for both, and it will serve as a central
hub from where all the main business is being conducted.
Secondly, office space will be rented out, where there will be registration officers, who
will be working on the registration procedures for new applicants. There will be 2 office
cars, mainly for the purpose to provide transportation to the employees.

Key Employees
Employees are an essential asset of any company if they are put to proper use and take
use of their skills appropriately. Key employees vary for business to business as the
nature of the business varies. In the case of EBOW- Everybody on wheels, the key
employees for the business include:
 A manager who can supervise this process.
 An engineer who develops the application.
 A mechanic who can ensure the condition of the car and approve it for
registration.
 An inspection team
 CR managers

A manager is important for this process so that he/she can look over the procedures that
are run and can direct the employees under him as to what objectives are to be achieved
in order to reach to the final goal. She/he is important also because it is their duty to run
all the processes and plan these in a way that they maintain a balance between efficiency
and effectiveness.
An engineer in important in order to develop the application, as application development
is a complicated process and needs skilled personnel who is familiar with the entire
process of web creation and has know how of these processes and knows the
terminology. The right skilled person, appropriate for the job would be key to the
company as he/she will have to integrate the system in a way that it can match the
availability of the nearest car with that of the driver/borrower.
Finally, a mechanic is yet another key employee for the company as they would be on the
front end, matching the car with the customer in need and the requirement of every
customer is value for money and comfort, and to ensure value for money, the most
important aspect in this business is to ensure the condition of the car and for that a
mechanic is an integral employee as they have to examine the car ad rate it for its
condition in order to tell whether it is acceptable for the business as per its quality
standards or not.

Key Partners
EBOW will have an alliance with an insurance company which will provide coverage to
the cars which are being registered at EBOW. The other partners will include Rent A car
business owners who will register their cars on EBOW and will get special offers.
