Topic: Reading texts. Analyzing information

Aims -
 Student:
• reads and understands text containing numerical information;
• performs initial steps to facilitate solving the task, including an auxiliary drawing or
conveniently saving information and data from the content of the task;
• recognizes the dependencies between the given information;
• verifies the result of the task, evaluating the reasonableness of the solution

 putting into practice the knowledge and skills acquired during the "Teacher and Student
of the New Decade" course (training materials)

Methods of work: heuristic, explaining, solving tasks with commenting, working with a
textbook.
Forms of work: individual.
Teaching aids: a computer, e-textbook, course materials.
Course of classes:
Introductory part:
1. Organizational activities.
2. Reminder of the last lesson.
Main part:
1. State the objectives of the lesson and the topic of the lesson.
2. Asking questions, displaying charts and graphically presenting answers.
3. Pupils quieting down. A short meditation. Relaxing music. (5 minutes)
4. 4. Solving tasks from the textbook, p. 35

Exercise. Read the activity written on the board and what the children said. Who is
right - girl or boy?
„Mr Kazik is 8 years older than his wife and 6 years older than his sister. Which of the
ladies is younger?”
Girl: It is impossible to answer this question, because it is not known how old Mr.
Kazik is.
Boy: You do not need to know the age of Mr. Kazik.

Krzysztof is 12 years older than Monika. How much older will he be than her in 10
years?
3. Ania and Jurek measured the length of the corridor with their steps. Ania took 14
steps along the corridor, and Jurek - 16. Which of the children took longer steps -
Ania or Jurek?
4. The same number of people stood in the queue to checkout A as to checkout B.
When two people were served at checkout A, three people were served at checkout
B at the same time. In which queue are more people now?

5. Mrs. Anita has 18 soup spoons, 19 teaspoons, 20 forks and 17 knives in her kitchen
drawer. For how many people can she serve dinner with dessert so that everyone has
a set of cutlery?
