Part I.

Adobe-Animate 2019 similarly known as Adobe-Flash

Uses of Adobe Animate


-To create and control animations
-To create and control web applications
-To create and control games
-To create and control videos
Starting the Adobe-Animate
1. Click the start button
2. Go to the apps section
3. Look for Adobe Animate 2019
4. Click the program and wait for it to load
Opening a new file in adobe flash
1. Go to the menu bar
2. Click file and click new
3. A pop up should appear showing you different
options.
4. Modify to your likings once satisfied press create
The adobe animate window
1. Menu bar- It shows the commands such as file, edit,
view, insert, modify, text, commands, control, debug,
window, and help.
2. Stage-This area contains text, images, videos, and
other elements that the viewers will see when a movie
is playing.
3. Pasteboard- This is the gray area where you can place
elements that you are working on which you do not
want the viewers to see.
4. Work Area- the area surrounding the stage which
includes the command menus, tools, and panels for
editing and adding elements in your document or
movie.
5. Timeline- It contains frames, layers, and scenes that
allow you to manage your movie.
6. Properties Panel- It allows you to view and edit
properties such as background color, frame rate, size,
and information of the current object you are working
on.
7. Library Panel- It allows you to store and organize
symbols created in animate, including imported files,
graphics, files, and video clips.
8. Tools Panels- It contains the tools that allow you to
create, select, edit, and modify object.

The Menu Bar.


The menu bar contains all the functions available in
animate.
The Workspace.
There are many elements in Animate that you can use
to create your document or movie such tools are inside
the workspace.
Saving the workspace
1. On the title bar click essentials drop down arrow
and select new works space.
2. On the new workspace window type your file name
and click ok.
The tools panel
-Tools area contains drawing painting and selection
tools.
-View Area contains tools for zooming and panning in
the application window.
-Colors Area Contains modifiers for stroke and fill colors
-Option Area contains modifiers for the currently
selected tool. This changes depending on the tool that
you are currently using.

Displaying the tools panel


1. On the menu bar click window
2. Click tools.
The tools panels groups
1. Selection tool- It selects any object on the stage
when selected it allows you to edit the object or
view its properties
2. Sub selection tool- It allows you to adjust the stroke
lines of an object.
3. Free Transform tool- It allows you to freely adjust
the size of the selected object.
4. Gradient transform tool- It allows you to adjust the
gradient of the object.
5. 3D Rotation- It allows you to adjust or modify an
object to give a 3D look
6. Lasso tool- Allows you to select parts of bitmap
images.
7. Pen tool- It allows you to create lines on a specific
point with precise control.
8. Text tool- It allows you to put texts on stage.
9. Line tool- It creates line on the stage.
10. Rectangle tool-It creates rectangles.
11. Oval tool- It creates oval shapes.
12. Polystar tools- It creates Polygon and Stars.
13. Pencil Tool- It allows you to create lines
manually
14. Brush tool- It allows you to create fills
15. Bone tool- It allows you to create animation
using hinges.
16. Paint bucket tool- it allows you to fill an object
with color.
17. Ink Bottle tool-Allows you to apply a stroke line
on an object.
18. Eye Dropper tool- allows you to select a specific
color to use and fill an object.
19. Eraser tool-It erases anything on stage
20. Hand tool-It allows you to move the stage by
clicking and dragging.
21. Zoom tool- Allows you to zoom in or out
22. Stroke Color- It changes the fill color
23. Black and White Changes the color to black and
white
24. Swap Colors it swaps the color or the stroke
and fill
25. It snaps one object to another object.

Part II
Basic Animation
-Working With Layers
Layers are organized objects or elements that can be
arranged in front or behind another layer.
1. View-Determines the visibility of the layer
2. Lock-Locks or Unlock the layer
3. Outline-It views the outline of the element and the
color of the outline
Adding or Creating layers.
1. Select layer by clicking the layer name.
2. Click and drag the elements such as text or picture
into the stage
3. Click the new layer Icon
4. Select the second layer and add elements into the
layer.
5. To change the layer position, click on the layer name
and click it up or down.
6. After arranging the layer, the first layer in the list is
the topmost layer in the stack of layers.
7. To rename double click the layer name and type the
new name
Motion Tween
Motion tweens are used to animate symbols
-Must use symbols only
-Define a start and end keyframe
Using a Motion Tween
1. Select the layer and the object
2. On the menu bar, click modify, and click convert to
symbol
3. Five the symbol a name and select the type movie
clip
4. On the registration setting, select the center
registration
5. On the menu bar click insert and click motion tween
6. Move the playhead to the last frame 30 and move
your object to the end of the motion or destination
7. You will see a dotted line to indicate the path of
motion
8. To play the animation on the menu bar click control
and click play
