I. RATIONALE:

Geologic mapping is a critical element in building a long-term data base, and

it is the most efficient way to develop this data base. It also helps geologists find
important economic minerals and avoid hazards. Geologic maps are maps of the
earth's surface showing the types and ages of rock exposed.

In addition, geologic maps are the most useful data mode for industry and
government because of the variety of data that can be integrated into maps.

II. OBJECTIVES

The activity aims to generate data geoscientific data and produce 1:50,000
scale map to provide useful baseline information for mineral, energy, and water
resources development, engineering and land use planning, disaster risk reduction
and environmental applications.

III. METHODOLOGY:

The activity includes the collection of rock samples for paleo-dating, petrographic
analysis and assay. Paleo-dating is used to identify the relative age of the rock
through fossils or the remains of plants, animals, fungi, bacteria, and single-celled
organisms that preserved in rock. Petrographic analysis is used to identify and
describe the mineral content and the textural relationships within the rock. Moreover,
Assay is applied to selected samples to determine the percentage of a certain
