OBJECTIVE
This module is intended to identify task to be undertaken properly and identify and select
appropriate hand tools according to the task requirements.
Lesson Overview:
1. Selecting the best tool for each task requires training in the proper use of the tools, field
experience in their safe use, and following the manufacturer’s guidance and
instructions for that specific tool.
2. When obtaining the tool, all the associated tooling and consumable parts, as
recommended by the manufacturer, must be included.
3. The safe use of a tool depends on using the tool for the purpose for which it was
designed and also for other purposes where it can be used as substitute where tool is
not available.
4. All tools should be kept in good condition with regular maintenance.
5. Preparing for a task includes also the sequence of tasks to be done.

Lesson Overview:
Once selected, use the tool for the purpose for which it was designed. Not all tools come with
detailed instructions, but there are those that do spell out the safety ―Do’s and Don’ts for your
safety. If there are set-up/use options, operator judgment must always be based on what is the
safest way to use the tool.

OBJECTIVE
This module is intended to use tools according to tasks undertaken, observe all safety
procedures in using tools at all times and use appropriate PPE, and report malfunctions,
unplanned or unusual events to the supervisor.
Lesson Overview:
Safe working conditions help prevent injury to people and damage to computer equipment. A safe
workspace is clean, organized, and properly lighted. Everyone must understand and follow safety
procedures.
Follow the basic safety guidelines to prevent cuts, burns, electrical shock, and damage to
eyesight. As a best practice, make sure that a fire extinguisher and first-aid kit are available in
case of fire or injury. Poorly placed or unsecured tools and components can cause hazards.
